Golden Bowl Chinese restaurant

We organised a booking here for our small school group (12 people) while in the area for a competition. Arrived to find a central table set up to accommodate us. The staff were excellent and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Strongly recommend.

We tried this restaurant due to being a very easy 5 minute walk from Norwest Private Hospital. It’s a family operated restaurant run by incredibly friendly and helpful people. This is a standard menu with all the usual Aussie Chinese favourites. The difference is they are cooked to an exceptional level with very large portions. Definitely worth a visit. It won’t disappoint!

Amazing Cantonese Diner/restaurant reminiscent of Hong Kong style cooking!

The chef here can cook proper Cantonese Chinese food! Absolutely fantastic! It's been about 2 years since I've tasted something remotely similar!

The magic lies in the wok and what's called the breath of the wok known in Cantonese as "Wok Hey." The high heat and oil causes the wok to impart flavour to the food in the same way that charcoal cooked food has the subtle tastes of charcoal. It adds that aroma and you can definitely taste this!

Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Highly recommend the beef fried noodles known as 'Buddha noodles' with the flat white noodles, not the yellow chow mein noodles.

Absolutely lovely staff. If possible, bring cash as cash is king in Chinese restaurants ;)

UPDATE : Food is still great. Restaurant is incredibly busy on the weekends, but great for take away at lunch time.

Found this place by accident and my husband and I love it. Quick with the food and delicious. Mongolian lamb is def one of my favourites !

What a pleasure to find such wonderful food so close to my accomodation while staying in Norwest Sydney.
Vegetable spring rolls so fresh with delicious pastry. A special combination soup to warm me on a cold autumn evening. The fish fillets dish with spicy fresh ginger was a treat.
Excellent value for money and Candy my waitress was so friendly and helpful.
Serendipitously I bumped into a colleague who lives locally and with his wife eats here regularly.
5/5 I’ll be back again too.

I’ve ordered from here many times over the last 2 years. The food has always been amazing, but sometimes it can take up to 1.5 hours for you to get it. Its a sign that each dish is made when it is ordered and with a lot of care.

If you are patient, you will not be disappointed!

How this place does not have a 5 start review as a minimum is beyond me.
the 3.7 stars made me hesitant for years and i finally tried a few months ago. I can say without hesitations Golden Bowl has been consistently and without hesitation the most underrated overachieving restaurant in the area. I am still working my way through the entire menu and so far, NOT A SINGLE dish has disappointed.

This would have to have been the best Chinese food that I have had in a long time. Dish sizes were more than sufficient for our group of 6.
Service was prompt, and meals came out at the right time. Flavours of each dish was fantastic, absolutely nothing to complain about tonight.
We will definitely be going back to the Golden Bowl. Hands down one of the best in the Hills

Worked nearby for 2 days, bought take away lunches from here. Special fried rice on the first day just to try them out, it's the simplest way to tell if a Chinese chef is good or not.
It was surprisingly good, not too salty, and not oily like most Chinese restaurants out there. Very hot even for take away, can tell it was cooked with a lot of "Wok hei".
Soy sauce stir-fried noodles on the second day. Again, beautifully cooked, I do not feel thirsty after eating their food. This means the Chef does not overdose with seasoning or use a lot of MSG to cover up the taste of their food. I would definitely eat here again if I'm nearby.

Honestly the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The Mongolian Lamb was so tender, the special fried rice was just perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant, the delivery was also very quick.

All the food here is delicious. Over the years since Golden Bowl opened, we've never had a bad, or even average, meal from here.

Candy is such a warm, happy owner and is the heart of this restaurant.

We will go back every time we are back in the area - we've missed the food and the service that much.

Ordered via DoorDash food was amazing, mouthwatering and fresh. Family really enjoyed our meal ordered curry king prawns, sweet and sour pork, spring rolls, special fried rice, dim sims and honey chicken kids were demolishing it all.

Fast service and really great tasting food. Home delivery was fast and efficient. Order is correct every time. Food arrives hot and tasty.
Pickup is equally fast, accurate and I highly recommend it.
