A great place for information and know the history of the place (mining, migration etc)

It is a town with 2,500 population and could have 15,000 during holidays.

The history of Chinese men is very impressive.

Thank you to the lovely staff here. I have visited twice. Firstly, to get some information - and they had it all!
Second time - to visit the History Room & The Chinese Experience
Part of the Tin Dragon Trail - Launceston to St Helens
The story of the Chinese & the tin mines. VERY WELL DONE!
For $5 entry (concession $3), I got my money's worth well & truly.

Good place to go to toilet, good parking, close to post office, chemist and newsagent.
Occasionally the weekly Saturday market is held here

This place was great. Very friendly staff and had great knowledge of the tourist attractions throughout Tasmania. There is an extensive gift shop with an avalanche of brochures and maps related to everything Tasmania.

Love to visit the History room at the visitors centre as this area has such an interesting history both maritime and mining. Also lots of information about the history of local towns.
Also plenty of brochures and tourism information and merchandise in the visitor centre

My family and I were staying
in St Helens for a few nights, and we went to Visitor Centre to find out more about places of interests suitable for kids or family. We were kindly greeted by Helen, and she has been a great help to not only help me with my itinerary in St Helens, but also helped me with the rest of my stay in Tasmania. I thoroughly enjoy talking to her with her casual and easy going demeanor, and I am grateful for her kind assistance. We also visited the museum in the visitor centre and get to know interesting history and artifacts. The visitor Centre also sells a good range of souvenirs. Helen has indeed provided a very good customer service, and make a difference in enjoying my holiday in Tasmania.

A fantastically helpful Vicki suggested some great places to see. We were only there for the day but will be going back tomorrow. She even gave me 2 bob to put in the stamping machine display to make it go.
The museum next door is excellent. Neither to be missed.
Thank you somuch.

Vicki and staff were so helpful when we visited to find out what we could do in this area. They knew the area well and were enthusiastic to share their knowledge. Recommend this as a first stop in St Helen's so you don't miss out on all there is to do and see.

So good to find a tourist information office as they have been sadly lacking on our Tasmanian road trip. The lady who assisted us was so very pleasant and helpful We visited the places she recommended and they exceeded our expectations. If you visit St Helen's, call in and get the most out of your visit.
