A fantastic local business that is moving forward for all the right reasons. I recently went to PUA for an introductory flight in the Cessna 150 Aerobat and I was not disappointed. Everything from communication prior to the day to gladly taking home information on how to get more involved with flying was great! Instructor Harry demonstrated absolute proficiency, sound knowledge and astute awareness. I was greeted and taken into the crew rest area to sit comfortably and talk about my aviation experience and expectations. Then shown around the facility (which seems to be growing by the week - and for all the right reasons) before stopping in to one of the briefing rooms to go over the fundamentals of flight, some specifics about our aircraft and what to be aware of once up in the air. From the very start these guys have you as active as possible during the whole process and it is most definitely hands-on all the way. From calculating payloads to inspecting some aircraft components, getting comfortable in the aircraft, taking it for a taxi, engine run-ups, a flight to the training area for some basic manoeuvring and back – Harry very efficiently covered so much during my time. These guys cover all pilot ratings with some extra’s you can’t find at other schools. They have quite a fleet, backed by experienced instructors and industry technology such as flight simulators (yes, two of them – one of which is endorsed for logging hours). Phil’s reputation is a standout for a reason, and this is why I decided to go with PUA and will hopefully continue to do so. These guys run classes that span across all facets of credentialling for RPL, PPL, CPL and many other endorsements tailored to your needs and availability. Great flight training. Very experienced yet humble instructors. With a great training culture. The airfield is perfect for training at and there is a great instructor to student ratio.

What's not to love - a very well run business, everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable, great ground training facilities, clean and good choice of well maintained aircraft. You will find it value for money.

Phil Unicomb Aviation were fantastic at helping me arrange a last minute suprise Christmas gift for my father who had not flown for 30+ years. Nathan our instructor was brilliant and helped him relive some awesome memories. Prices seemed to be good and fair and their flexibility around times made the experience even better.

I visited Phil Unicomb Aviation on the recommendation of a friend after having a break from flying for a few years. From my initial e-mail enquiry they were helpful, arranged an immediate booking online and provided me with login details. The website is transparent with information, prices and a checklists for the fleet. The welcome and support from all of the instructors at the hangar was great and took away any apprehension I had from being rusty. Andrew was patient and professional on the ground and in the air. I'll be sticking with PUA to get my Flight Review completed and get back up in the air solo. Thank you gents.

Did my Biennial Flight Review at this facility (Cessnock Airport) with instructor Nathan. Professional, nice aircraft well set up, nice airport, very reasonable charges with the review tailored to the kind of flying I do. Recommended.

Had a delightful tour of the hangars today. Sam was fantasy. Got up very close to the aircraft. Got plenty of photos to help me complete my 3.6 meter flying scale Cessna 152. Would have gone for a flight but the weather was very wet.
