Sandbar Restaurant Yamba

We visited the Sandbar in Yamba for breakfast. A cute French restaurant & cafe. There's nice seating in and outside. You're close to the ocean. It's bright and airy.

The waitress was very nice.

Even though it's "just" breakfast, the dishes are fancy. The avocado toast was very good.

The Prawn Star, despite being one of the most popular dishes, disappointed a bit. The prawns felt a bit too burnt. Coffee was good.

We had a delicious lunch with a view. Prawn roll was fresh and mouth watering. I love my wines and was impressed with the interesting selection...Clare Valley Riesling...superb! Our waitress Charlotte was super welcoming and charming. A must when visiting Yamba for food sophistication and a warm friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed drinks and an awesome Seafood tasting plate for two. The outside tables are dog friendly and we were accompanied by our fur kids.
We were served by Charlotte. Charlotte's service and attention to detail were excellent!

Special thank you to Charlotte who made us feel so we and helped out with finding us a perfect spot for our Granny’s walker. The food was delicious and waitstaff very helpful. Charlotte was very personable.

Brilliant dinner! Highly recommend. Food was delicious and service was great. Romain did a great job checking our order was correct and clearing our plates and bringing drinks without intrusion on our conversation. He also checked in with my sons if they enjoyed their dessert. Will come back to try more items off the menu. I recommend the baked Camembert and the Yamba prawns. Husband enjoyed the snapper. Oysters were fresh and dessert was also wonderful. Do yourself a favour and have dinner here!

Charlotte gave us wonderful service with smile & was very attentive. The food was amazing & presented beautifully. A gem of a place to eat in Yamba.

Great atmosphere here. Plenty of staff to cater to a packed restaurant. Very attentive, particularly our host Charlotte. She couldn’t have been more polite or accommodating. Definitely our best dining experience in Yamba. Well done Charlotte.

A friendly greeting as we arrived as a table of 4 with no booking and Charlotte greeted us and made recommendations off the extensive menu. We ordered the Seafood Platter, the seafood was so fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection, the service was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Visited this restaurant recently and was instantly greeted by the staff and offered a seat anywhere, so we grabbed a seat outside.

We ordered the Oysters with Champagne Mignonette and the Oysters with Passionfruit and Chilli Salsa for entree. For mains we ordered the Yamba Prawn Roll with hand cut chips and Chargrilled Yamba Prawns which had a prawn bisque, Caribbean prawn fritters and roasted corn (all to share).
You can tell that they use only the best quality ingredients as the food was outstanding.

We enjoyed our lunch here so much that on the following day - when we were trying to decide where to have lunch - we figured why not go where we know it’s awesome, so we did!
This time we ordered both the oysters again but had a Prawn Roll each.
Once again the service was attentive and the food was delicious.

Also the location is perfect - close enough to everything but on a quiet enough street that you feel far away. Both days the sun was shining and made this a perfect way to dine in Yamba!

I took my Lady to this place and wow. We both loved the dishes we chose. Crab spaghetti & Miso Scallops. The food was so delicious, flavours were just amazing. Highly recommend.
Service was spot on aswell. Front of house staff were very welcoming.
Didn’t have to book as we got there early.
The place filled quickly though.
Definitely would drop in again.

Visiting here from Western Australia I was keen to try this restaurant, it did not disappoint. Sitting by the beach with this lovely breakfast. The best coffee!
Prawns cooked perfectly in butter and garlic with a perfect hollandaise sauce. Lovey combination with the poached eggs!

The best food I’ve had in a beach community! It’s not your normal pub fare. Very well designed menu. Charlotte took good care of us, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner of delicious seafood without the breading or deep fryer. My husband got the crab spaghetti, and I had the scallops and risotto. The portion sizes were just right. We left sated but not stuffed. While it’s not cheap, the quality matched the price paid.

We enjoyed the beautiful ambience of Sandbar. Our food was sensational to say the least! Flavours that were beyond expectations and our waitress Charlotte was an amazing host helping me with meal choices which were spot on. We highly recommend you visit Sandbar when in Yamba for the culinary experience of a lifetime ❤ Thank you Charlotte for creating a night to remember & treasure our holiday in Yamba ❤🙏

Beautiful breakfast at the Sandbar. Just a short stroll from our accomodation. Staff were so friendly the Restaurant was clean and decorated nicely with indoor and outdoor seating, extensive menu, quick attentive service and amazing food. We had the Yamba Prawn Star. A twist on an eggs Benny, and it was absolutely divine.

Had a lovely evening on a warm night in Yamba. Louise looked after us delightfully and the food and wine selection was faultless. I thought the oysters were particularly good.

Our experience at Sandbar Restaurant in Yamba on Friday night exceeded expectations, particularly with their seafood special for two, which they graciously adapted for our party of three. This flexibility and customer service truly impressed us.

The seafood special itself was a delightful assortment of fresh ocean delicacies - prawns, oysters, scallops, beetroot cured salmon gravlax, crab salad with fish pearls, soft shell crab, bugs, all expertly prepared and beautifully presented with such amazing flavours. Each bite was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality seafood and culinary expertise. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing. What stood out even more was the exceptional service provided by Charlotte, our waitress for the evening. Charlotte’s attention to detail and accommodating nature enhanced our dining experience significantly. She not only ensured that our orders were correct but also went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and well-attended throughout the evening - even emptying the discard bowls regularly from the shells etc from the seafood.

The ambiance of Sandbar Restaurant was also noteworthy, with its relaxed yet sophisticated coastal vibe, complemented with a well stocked bar for beautiful cocktails and amazing wines.

Overall, I highly recommend Sandbar Restaurant for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Yamba, especially for their menu selection and impeccable service. And if you're lucky enough to have Charlotte as your server, you're in for an extra special treat. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Yamba.

We stayed at the Cove, so Sandbar is right below, it feels like it’s part of the same establishment. It seems to have had a bit of an upgrade since our last visit a few years ago, and has a distinct French accent while retaining the Australian beach town atmosphere that attracts us to Yamba.
We were served by a delightful Frenchman who was very attentive and efficient, seating us where our 2YO was comfortable and where we could take advantage of the location just above Main Beach.
The crab with scrambled eggs (breakfast special) was superb, the coffee was perfect and the regular breakfast items (eggs Benedict, eggs and bacon on toast) were also delicious. The special order of crepes with maple syrup and strawberries for our 7YO was also rated ‘delicious’.
All in all, a fantastic place to get breakfast: lovely, genuine and friendly staff and excellent food! Highly recommended!
