Nalou Kitchen

Perusing around the shops of Mount Gambier for a delicious lunch, I discovered a quaint little cafe by the name of Nalou Kitchen! Determined to end my hunger streak, I walked in, took a seat and glanced at the menu. My eyes were met with wonderful dishes from Breakfast all day to Lunch which begun at 11am. I decided to order the Southwest Burger with an Iced Mocha. Though the prices a little steep, I was still interested with what the cafe had to offer. It was only a moment when the food graced the table, a behemoth of a burger and a scrumptious looking iced drink topped with whipped cream! As soon as I took my first bite, an explosion of flavours hit my tongue, from the savoury chicken to the tangy and sweet pineapple, coleslaw and homemade BBQ sauce all contained between two soft milk buns. The chips that accompanied the burger were an instant hit of spice, with the creole seasoning leaving a delicious tang. The mocha was the perfect flavour and texture. I assure you, with the quiet, calm ambiance of this cafe and the cheerful staff, it truly was an experience to remember.

Went for brunch on ANZAC day and had a Mexican corn fritter dish with coffees. They gladly modified the dish to make it vegetarian. Centrally located in town, the coffees were great, food was amazing, cosy and casual spot, order at the counter and fuss free spot. Was nice to see some of the locals after dawn service before the march.

Atmosphere - great, menu - delicious, staff - super friendly. Very accommodating for our fussy eaters. Really enjoyed everything from the raspberry lemon spider to the fried chicken Benny and sticky date pancakes, waffles.
Great choice for our holiday brunch.

I have been to this place many times and they have never gotten anything wrong or let me down. Their food never fails to please and nalou will definitely remain my favourite Cafe because of its lovely food and staff. I would definitely recommend nalou to people who want to have a quick bite to eat with friends and family!

Passed by this lovely cafe on the way to cave garden. Made a booking for lunch time as we wanted to try the lunch menu. The waitress was super nice and booked a table for us so we had no problem getting a spot when we came back from cave garden. Food was amazing and one of the best carbonara I have had. I enjoyed my daughter’s chocolate brownie too.

Found this lovely gem by accident. The food here is delicious and I especially like the environment it provides.

Food portion is big (just looking at what other’s are having) for the price.

Ample of 2 hours parking just outside the cafe.

It is located at the fringe of the town where most of the other restaurants are so it is quite an easy miss. I guess this place is fairly new (as of Dec 2019) because it doesn’t appear on Google Maps unless you zoom in.

SUPERB !!!!.....food and service ..i ate the caesar salad with chicken the girls ate a pulled pork buritto ..a chicken wrap ..plus we had sticky date pudding with warm icecream and a raspberry brownie .. yummie yummie yummie very filling ..you must go and try ..

We ordered the waffles and egg on toast with sides. Potato fritter was good. Halloumi was nicely grilled. Toast was soft and buttered just the right amount. Scrambled egg was very creamy. Waffles were good too just the right amount of sweet.

Just had breakfast here. What a fabulous meal X2. Presented well & tastes as good. Coffee & hot chocolate is nice too. Service is friendly & efficient

Friendly service, relaxing atmosphere, good range of choices on the menu, mostly, the food was great, fresh, healthy, and very well presented. Highly recommended.

If you're going to Mount Gambier, stop in here! We had a great lunch - pulled pork yiros and chicken BLT - food was delicious and a big serving, you won't leave here hungry. Another must try, the carrot cake 👍👍
