Dose of Chocolate

Please don't be put off by the negative reviews, I go there to the DOC every day. There is really no other coffee shop as good around Chester Hill. It's always popular with the locals. Their service is always good if you want a coffee. Their prices are good as well. Try it. It's very good.

A must stop for me when am in Chester hill the doughnuts are amazing tasteful and the coffee true artisan make never disappoint.

Excellent coffee, you can't go wrong

I come here 6 nights a week and they've never disappointed. Always great coffee. Not the cheapest but you get your moneys worth.

Brand new store in a brand new building.
Plenty of parking on the street or in a nearby carpark.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is very friendly too.
I love the style of the shop, from the bicycle on the wall to the barrels outside. Very photogenic and it will look good on your social media stories.
Check this place out while it is new, watch people ask you "That place looks cool, Where's that?"

Coffee is good but they leave so many cartons of milk on the bench which they shouldn’t… should be in the fridge. Few other people have complained about this. Not the best food safety standards

Really bad for parking but coffee is nice

I rate this cafe' a 2 out of 5 for the following reasons:

Service; Coffee was okay, did not listen to my request to make it 'extra hot', the coffee was normal temperature. Un-friendly service which is unacceptable for a small coffee shop, I would advise improving this aspect. During COVID-19 shutdowns, with café’s feeling the brunt of the reduced clientele, café’s need to put their best foot forward. The friendliness level of this cafe' needs to improve dramatically.

Café facilities; Did not use the facilities (toilets) therefore, I will rate accordingly. This small café’ has seating directly in front of the café’ on the street, some seating in the café’ (small bench area with bar stools).

Cleanliness; clean tables and clean bench at first glance.

Café’ Parking; Unfortunately, there is no dedicated café’ parking, there is however on-street parking in front of the café’ and at the shopping centre.

Point of difference; This café’ has a lot of Stephen king books gracing the shelves, when I asked the staff if they were available for the customers to read, he replied, the owner likes books and has left the books on the shelves, not for customers to read. That’s a pity, I would have rated this a 'first coffee shop that has books available for the customers' (it would be a point of difference, contrasted with other café’ shops in the area

Overall, the low mark is primarily due to the un-friendliness factor and not listening to what the customer really wants.

I actually gave them 5 stars last year but last two experiences were disappointing.

1) Wrong order more than once

2) Just last Saturday I came and waited a good 7 minutes right in the front as all staff were busy. All of a sudden an incoming customer came from behind (literally just came out of her car) pushed in by my side and made her order. (Yes she's rude BUT lets assume she thought I already made my order.) The 2 staff members who saw me waiting there the whole time didn't even make eye contact or at least apologise on behalf of another customer's rudeness. Instead...they just took her order.

So disrespectful to loyal customers.

What a shame I come here literally every week for a whole year lol. Yeah bye bye we're going next door.
