I'd like to give a 5 star review, to help balance out all the low ratings due to a "rude receptionist".
If I could reply directly to those reviews, I would.

Dr Jane Wong is the star of the show at this medical facility. Professional, explains in detail what you don't understand. Dr Jane is a caring, helpful Doctor that will ensure your health matters are addressed. My family and extended family all appreciate Dr Wong.

My family has been seeing Dr Jane Wong for many years. She is amazing! Very caring and friendly. We all love her. The receptionists are also very nice and always willing to help. Must give them a 5 ⭐ 😊

Great improvement since my last visit months back. The Dr gave me reassurance and a realistic approach to my enquiry as well as a little extra knowledge which was comforting. Quick, but not rushed. Trustworthy. Friendly and professional receptionist.

I had been recommended Dr La Hood by a friend of mine, but safe to say so far I have been very disappointed. The staff here have felt very unhelpful to the point where I’ve left unsatisfied multiple times and now I’m moving to another doctor.

I was dealing with some very sensitive issues and I was made to feel as if I was a burden for trying to seek help from my own GP. Even though I was given the appropriate paperwork to seek treatment elsewhere, a majority of the heavy lifting and research had to be done on my own as Dr La Hood would barely progress past the bare minimum for me. He offered me a safe place to discuss my issues and that never materialised. Instead I was chastised at one stage.

No advice I was ever given has been useful to me beyond the month after I was given it. The staff seem to work against you sometimes when you try and book an appointment and at other times they seem to be the most helpful people in the world.

I could not recommend this practice. I was local and Dr La Hood was the first GP I chose as an adult. I’m going elsewhere simply because I desire to be treated as if my issues and I matter to somebody.

Read all the reviews on this practice and had to laugh as I completely agree with all the negative reviews, having had the same terrible experiences as many others have with the receptionists at this practice. This was some years ago now and we left this practice long ago after being treated like dirt from the receptionists, which unfortunately overshadowed any positive experience we had with Dr Wong. Receptionists are an integral part of a positive patient experience, so for the sake of the patients and doctors at this practice, I hope the receptionists have improved their attitude.

Had the rudest receptionist answering my very first inquiry about getting a consultation & iron infusion. She said to me, who said that you will get an infusion with this doctor if you cant get it from your current one? Honestly, that was the purpose of this call - to find out, not to be interrogated by a freaking receptionist like this.

Definitely do not recommend and avoid if you can. I feel sorry for the doctors though for having such an awful staff member like this - you are losing businesses in the quickest possible way.

We only come here for Dr Wong however at each visit I'm always appalled at the disgusting attitude from one of the receptionists (not Louise, the other one).
She does not even have basic manners and every time without fail she seems bothered to do basic tasks that are obviously requirements of her job. If you hate your job that much to the point you're projecting onto patients, you're clearly not fit for the role.
As somebody who is the face of the practice and first point of greeting for patients, she sure does an amazing job at ruining people's mood and turning them away from this place.

LOL !!!! This was my conversation with this family practice's receptionist:

Reception: Hi, family surgery (or something like that)
Me: Hi, is this the family GP practice?
Reception: Yes this is Oatlands Family Practice
Me: Great, do you have any time to see me this morning?
Reception: No.
Me: Ah, alright, um...
Reception: Alright, thank you (hangs up)
Me: ......

She didn't give me a change to find a time nor even offered it. Literally hung up on my face. It blew my mind!

I drive past this practice every day to work and though maybe i'll give it a try as my back and leg pain has been very severe recently. Such a shame to have someone like this receptionist be the front person of a family practice. I never got to see the doctor but if she's as good as what the other reviews has said, i feel sorry for her and hope she knows how to read google reviews to learn about the receptionist's she's hired.

Have been going for almost four years, and with all due respect, unfortunately this medical practice has Doctors that have just not sat right with us for several reasons. One of the three doctors is just outright rude, the other gives text-book answers for children's issues, and the third always looks depressed and additionally, when the government was considering the $7 patient co-payment on bulk-billed GP visits, this Dr always made a point of mentioning at every visit, that this co-payment would be great for them (without me even bringing up the topic)....not something that your patients want to be reminded of every time they visit you. In addition, we have always found this medical centre to have the rudest secretaries. We you or your family are sick, the LAST thing you want to see is a sour face and a rude attitude when you go to seek help at the GP. On top of this, they don't know how to manage patient appointments. We were "told off" one day for being late and told that the person who had an appointment after us had to wait to see the Dr until after we had gotten there and seen the Doctor. We were made to feel so guilty, which was really un-empathetic of them given that we had a baby, toddler and an adult who were all sick. It was more difficult that normal to get organised and out of the house. We always ring when we are running late, but on this one occasion we were not able to, and we were made to feel so bad when we arrived. Obviously the "common sense-thing" to do in this situation (and certainly what other medial centres do), is to let the next appointment see the Dr first if the previous appointment has not yet arrived. This was the last time we went there and subsequently we have found a great medical centre in the area - the Doctors have a wonderful better bedside manner (we have seen several doctors here and ALL of them are really lovely and caring) and the Centre is equipped with much more equipment and is much cleaner and newer. Best of all, their secretaries are patient and lovely and great at managing the large number of patients. Even though wait-times at the new Centre are longer, it is worth it as the overall experience and service is much more superior.
