Could this be Sydney's most genuine Malaysian Mamak food? On weekdays it's a regular cafe serving the industrial estate of Camellia, but on Saturday it transforms into a piece of Malaysia. Even the run down, isolated location reminded me of the country.

The "banana leaf" dishes are amazing. A selection of curries, fried food and vegetables served with rice on a real banana leaf. The satay is cooked outside like they do in Malaysia, even though I have had better. Unfortunately they ran out of roti canai before we could try, but their hot Milo was perfect and sweat, while their version of bandung rose drink was also great.

The cafe was really busy and we had to wait over half an hour for a table, so it's probably a good idea to reserve and order ahead. There's street parking available as well.

We'll be back!

Excellent customer service, all of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the owner is very pleasant and nice to talk to. The food is exceptional and has far exceeded my expectations. As a Malaysian I am confident to say that the dishes truly depict authentic Malaysian food. The banana leaf and nasi lemak were very delicious while the goat curry and mee hoon goreng were extremely flavourful. The teh tarik was luscious and fresh. By the end of the meal my friends and I were planning our next visit! Considering the quality and quantity of the food, the price is very reasonable. Enjoyed every single bite of my meal. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Incredibly generous portion sizes and delicious banana leaf curry options on weekend (make sure you reserve a table and call ahead to place your order). Clean highchair available too, which is always appreciated.

Noodles are good too, and tasty teh Tarik. Worth the trip out.

Wish the cups were recyclable but that's the only minor downside.

Went back there last week and I still can’t stop thinking about it . This is quintessential Malaysian mamak dining experience.. authentic AF! Loved it 😍!! The exceptional high standards of the home cooked South Indian Malaysian food taste, quality, portion size , customer service with the best laid back Malaysian Mamak experience $ can’t buy! A reviewer totally missed the point when he mentioned “what Camellia lacked in atmosphere “ but it’s precisely the atmosphere which keeps me coming back ... that includes the trucks, industrial look, slightly dusty roadside outdoors area and detours to get or go out from there lol! 😆

The aroma from the restaurant is mouth watering as you walk towards the place. It was a full house so right away you can sense it was going to taste good. The girl that took my order was very friendly and made some recommendations. I ordered roti canai, chicken curry & fried chicken banana leaf combo, mamak mee goreng as well as mango lassi & lemon iced tea. Overall the food was really tasty and delicious. Will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

June 2020: second visit - ask the staff about off menu specials murtabak $10, chicken briyani $10, pattaya fried rice with fried chicken $13.

14 May 2020: first impression is this reminds me exactly of a Malaysian cafe. I really love the mamak mi goreng, spicy and flavoursome! The pattaya fried rice is so good (chef is a young male). Price is very reasonable at $10. The portions are generous and staff very friendly.
The menu is a mix of fusion malaysian and western food (think burgers, chips, etc). Would be great to see "specials" added to the menu for variety.
If you are visiting for the first time, the cafe is further along a semi industrial park. Plenty of off-street parking. EFTPOS available, and I read catering is available too. I will be back.
