I had a Birthday lunch at Rileys and was super impressed The service and food were spectacular...the scallops were the best I've ever had! The restaurant is in a quiet historic building and there are some great old photos on the walls

We stayed in the three bedroom Thompson's Residence with my family and had a wonderful time. Cold nights but the combustion heater worked beautifully and there was heating in the sunroom at the rear. What a lovely spot to relax and have a coffee or a few glasses of wine looking out into the garden to watch all the birdlife.

The bathroom is brand new with a great bathtub and the kitchen is well stocked with provisions to make breakfast each day.
Mintaro is a quaint town just great for walking in peace and quiet. All in all this is a super spot to spend a few nights and explore everything the valley has to offer.

We stayed in the Priests Cottage. Right from the friendly greeting at Reillys winesales we knew it would be good. The old cottage has a wood combustion heater (which was great in the very chilly conditions and much better than the artificial heat of the reverse cycle air con). Some may not notice the subtle touches such as the plunger coffee , decent wine glasses etc, but we did. We had a package for 3 nights which included breakfast provisions for 3 mornings. This was more than adequate but interestingly when we checked in, we were told to ask for more if we ran out. Didn't need it but this reflects the customer service you will get. Don't expect a 5 star modern room because it isn't that. What it is though is a well equipped, quiet and comfortable old cottage , supported by great customer service. If I may add, do go to the Magpie and Stump pub (a very short walk) for a meal. Great pub grub and friendly cheery service. The new owners are trying really hard.
Little out of the way places like Mintaro can really use the tourist dollar, so do yourself a favour. Visit, kick back and enjoy.

Hi Justin and Julie, thank you for a comfortable, cosy stay in "The Priest's" cottage. Sorry we missed catching up with you guys this time. The weather was lovely for a wander through the town, and
as always wines were delicious.
Thanks again Kylie and Adam Beauchamp 🍒

Excellent accommodation! Very comfortable rooms in beautiful building. All amenities and provisions were supplied as we needed, and we could pop over to the restaurant and cellar door while we were there! 10/10 I definitely recommend!

2 nights here was great! Very cosy and beautiful setting. Easy check-in, comfortable bed and complimentary wine! Would’ve liked a bit more for breakfast, an iron, hand soap in the kitchen and slippers for the stone floor. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great accommodation for 5 adults with three double bedrooms, however, the second bedroom really needs a new mattress, it's really uncomfortable.
Allowing access to a washing machine would be good too, especially if staying for more than a couple of nights.
Great breakfast options left for us to use, and we loved the front room with the fireplace.
Overall, we highly recommend this cottage.
Definitely go to the pub for drinks & food!!

We stayed in the Pulfords Suite for 2 nights, which shares an entry and is attached to, the Priest's suite.
The cottages and the property have a rustic charm and we enjoyed staying in the historical village of Mintaro. The Mintaro pub is 100m down the road and is a great place for a pub meal.
We appreciated the wood fireplace in our cottage which kept us warm through the night. Cooking facilities are adequate but a bit cramped.
We really enjoyed the wine tasting from the cellar door. Samples were generous and staff gave us very good service. Their wines were also very good and very reasonably priced.
Be aware there is no wi-fi at the property, nor in Mintaro. Mobile phone reception is also poor.
Unfortunately we were unable to book the one bedroom cottage (Thompson) for our stay. This would have been a better option as we had rude neighbours who stayed up late and went back and forth into their cottage causing noise and the entrance light to turn on. The one bedroom cottage is fully detached and has a more modern air conditioner.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we are glad we chose Reilly's cottages.

$7 for a cappuccino!! And a very milky one at that. Friendly service and beautiful building but don't go there for coffee. And yes I know it's not where you usually would get a coffee but there is literally this place and the pub in Mintaro as coffee options.... Coffee first then visit the beautiful town of Mintaro ;)

ONLY stay here if you want NO phone or Wi-Fi connection!!
The cottage would be great if you wanted isolation... but not being able to call the kids at home made it an anxious stay.
The restaurant and platters were only available on the weekend- we stayed midweek so we missed the opportunity to taste the food there.
Also the free WiFi in Mintaro didn't work. ( not the owners fault- just no reception)
A recommendation to the owner would be to make sure visitors knew this prior to booking, and provide board games, good books and DVDs to fill the evenings.
The furniture was worn. It was two chairs (not ideal for a couples getaway) and the tv was small, the DVD player attached did not play many movies.
The bathroom had loose tiles on the floor.
However the provisions left were fantastic!.And the place was warm and had great water pressure.
The pub, (new management)the Magpie and Stump was amazing!! Well worth a visit!
For the price of the stay I really think they could invest in some more comfortable couple friendly furniture.

I would strongly caution against booking Reillys Heritage Cottages. Although the price point is fairly high the cottages are cold and need some renovation. It’s billed as an bed n' breakfast but you must cook your own breakfast on a skillet in the room (not well ventilated). There’s not enough space to get ready for a wedding/event and only a very small mirror. More problematically it’s just impossible to get dinner in Mintaro. The hotel says if you ask they will cook you a dinner to reheat in the microwave (not ideal) but when we asked for this early in the day we were refused and told us to drive 20km to get a takeaway curry. The nearby Magpie stump pub is supposed to be open for dinner but only opens sometimes if the proprietor feels like it. In summary, it made the trip disappointing and inconvenient. I’ve stayed in better places in the Clare.
