Our 2nd visit. Mintaro is Pretty, with interesting history, & Martindale Hall & the Mintaro Maze are around the corner, with Clare close by. Rooms scrupulously clean, comfortable, furnished & decorated tastefully with every amenity.
Awesome water pressure in the showers, wonderful spa bath, open fire or wood heater, wonderful garden, congenial & discreet hosts, generous breakfast provisions.......
I tried to think about how the stay & / or the facilities could be improved & could not think of one thing!
So Devonshire House IS an absolutely perfect place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful. We are from the old school that appreciate things done with the finer detail in mind. No internet BONUS! To some thats a down fall but if your looking for a quiet peaceful wind down Devonshire House hits the mark. 10/10. We will return Andrew and Sharon Gridley

Absolutely gorgeous place...so much bigger inside than it seems from outside. Lots of extra goodies. Very pleasant hosts, full of interesting facts about the building.

Had read and heard good things about Devonshire House and we weren't let down. Larger than we expected with 3 separate rooms (living/kitchen , bedroom and bathroom). We stayed in Unit 2, not sure if others are similarly sized. Kitchen well stocked for our 2 night stay and there was plenty of firewood for the 2 nights also. Very comfy and warm bed. Lots of character but with some contemporary touches also. Highly recommended.

Exterior conceals unexpected luxuries in a quiet venue with some catering available. Impressive selection of nice touches enhances the experience.

Great cottage heaps of history and town to match great local pub and wineries to top it off, I totally recommend it just west of Clare

Really relaxing

Great location, lots of extras with breakfast provisions and wood for fire.
However no instructions on how to use the airconditioning for heating, and it was blowing cold air, no instructions on how to use the dvd player, and we bought dvds to watch and worst of all no hot water to shower of have a bath on our last day.
We found out you can't use the spa more than once a day as the hot water has limited capacity and it's solar panels only heat up the water during the day, not overnight.
There is no mention of this in the compendium or when you book, so be aware.

Devonshire House is full of history. As a B&B it is rustic but very comfortable. It is in a beautiful place called Mintaro which is like stepping back in time but within the gorgeous wine district of Clare Valley
