All the staff that work at Canberra Heart Rhythm the practice and through the hospital are very caring. They made me feel safe, listened to and this aided in my recovery.

Dr Pathak and his team are highly professional, and made a stressful situation as pleasant as possible. After 2 ablations I've gone from over 20,000 irregular heartbeats in a 24 hour period, to 61! I'm so glad that my GP referred me to Canberra Heart Rhythm.

Dr Pathak is not only a skilled surgeon but an excellent communicator who is interested and enthusiastic about his area of expertise. He is supported by a large, very professional clinical team, and a group of pleasant, efficient receptionists. The entire organization is incredibly well-organized (Despite the large number of people visiting the centre every day, I never experienced having to sit around in the waiting room for hours ). Apart from the above, I was impressed by CHR's pre- and post-surgery information sheets and booklets -- concise and informative, containing all you might want to know about your condition. Can't praise the organization enough.

Coming to Canberra Heart Rhythm was the best decision I ever made in my life. I was cured 100% by Dr Pathak and the staff were very kind and treated me very well. The specialist doing the echo was also very kind and sensitive and I felt cared for. All the staff there are wonderful people. When I arrived I was on my last legs barely able to take one step from heart failure and AF. Dr Pathak rearranged his schedule to be able to help me in a matter of days as he could see how urgently I needed help. I am so grateful that he removed my AF with ablation that went extremely well and done so promptly. Within a month of the operation I was better than ever with all my strength back and no heart failure at all despite being so sick when I arrived. It was an absolute miracle and all the praise has to go to Dr Pathak for his incredible skill in this procedure.

The staff is incredibly professional while being personable. Even at the busiest of times they are friendly when greeting patients arriving and helpful when answering questions after the appointment. The same can be said about the medical staff. In addition, the medical staff is very capable of problem solving in case not everything goes to plan. All of these attributes are a reflection of Dr Pathak’s professionalism and good nature.

Excellent clinic. My experience with Canberra Heart Rythym is the smoothest and most pleasant I’ve had with any medical clinic in a long time. Very short wait time (less than 10mins) for each appointment I had. Clean facilities and highly organised. Friendly staff with excellent customer service and a relaxed atmosphere which eased my anxiety every step of the way. The administrative team at CHR were kind, informative and helpful with any question or request I had. Parking and accessibility was just as great. The nurses, for the most part, were kind and informative and very reassuring throughout my tests. Special shout out to Allison and the other blonde cardiac nurse (never got her name!) who helped me through several of my tests and helped calm my nerves. The Indian woman sonographer who did my echocardiogram was excellent too - warm, welcoming and reassuring during the whole test. There is no wonder why Dr Pathak is at the top of his field in cardiology, he was thorough and professional with my whole diagnostic process. He was friendly and personable and gave me a clear and detailed review of my test results and the path forwards to recovery in my consultation with him after I had completed my tests. I have been attending CHRC now for nearly three years. 2023 was a particularly stressful year with heart surgery for ablations in both ventricles and a CRT-D implant. I didn't need any additional stress during this period and the Dr Pathak and the entire team at CHRC were amazing. The reception team are amazing - always friendly and patient and completely professional. The clinical team are wonderful - professional, caring and very attentive - great at keeping you informed of what they are doing and why. I had seen two other heart specialists before going to the Canberra Heart Rhythm out of desperation to have my concerns taken seriously. On my first visit it was clear that the centre was full of quality professionals who knew their stuff, not just Dr Pathak who for me was a life saver.

I have since had 3 surgeries and had improved quality of life after the first that stopped my flutter in Jun 2021 and then almost back to normal after the first ablation in Sep 2021. My second ablation was in Feb 2022 and I haven’t had a single event yet. For me it was total success but even if I didn’t get a perfect outcome, I still would have been super happy with any result that I got because I would have been 100% confident that the best effort was made.

Every visit was done efficiently and on time. I felt comfortable, support and that my health was important. Everything was explained and I was encouraged to ask questions – a complete change from my previous experiences with other specialists. It was also very economical and I would have been happy paying double the money, obviously having a quality private health insurance makes a big difference as well.

If you have any problems with your heart rhythm don’t waste years like I did, go to the Canberra Heart Rhythm centre.

18 Months now since I was first diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and subsequently underwent atrial ablation surgery. I am now completely symptom free and owe my fortunate (full) recovery to both; 1. my Apple smart watch that originally picked it up and, 2. Dr Pathak's thoroughness, expertise and treatment that has returned me to full fitness. And yes, he also was a large part of developing the Apple watch technology.

I had an oblation at a relatively young age. Dr. Pathak and his team supported me, by offering the most expert care and support. Their guidance and expertise helped me navigate a difficult path toward a positive recovery. I know I have to be committed to these lifestyle changes, and there is a chance of more surgery, but it is a relief to know my health is greatly improved.

I was referred to Professor Pathak by my GP after reporting occasional episodes of breathlessness and sudden changes in my heart rate. The team at Canberra Heart Rhythm put me through extensive tests and I was diagnosed with a scar on my heart wall. This was successfully treated by an ablation procedure. At the time of this procedure, Professor Pathak also found I had a "flutter" that hadn't been identified by the earlier tests. This was subsequently treated by another procedure, and I am now feeling substantially more energetic and relaxed.

I can't speak highly enough of the professionalism, empathy and friendliness that Professor Pathak and his team displays. They make you feel very comfortable and make sure you are provided with all the information you may need or want. Their competence in arranging appointments, tests, hospital bookings etc. is quite evident.

I have never experienced any undue delays when attending for appointments, and the rooms are very clean, tidy and comfortable. Fees for consultations, tests and procedures are very, very reasonable.

I'm hoping I don't need to see more of them than is necessary to monitor my heart health, but it is very reassuring to know Prof. Pathak and his team are there for me and my family.
