It was our second visit to Ming’s Pantry last night, and the food is superb! We ordered the hand wrapped chicken and prawn wontons, chicken wings, mee goreng mamas and roti with beef rendang. Every dish was absolutely beautiful, 10/10! We will definitely be back 😊

Outstanding Hainanese Chicken Rice! I grew up in Singapore and I find that this is very close to authentic for what Canberra has to offer! From the correct soup, the right Chili sauce, rice and perfect cuts of chicken! Also all under a reasonable price point in reference to normal Canberra costs. They got everything right! Amazing chefs and waiters. thank you so much! Cravings satisfied!

A trusty and fairly affordable Malaysian restaurant in the CBD! I enjoyed all the dishes and felt they were cooked nicely. The roti was soft and chewy, chicken wings crispy. The gravy chicken chop was delicious and the laksa broth was not bad (the seafood could have been more flavourful for sure though). Definitely recommend the pandan leaf fried chicken.

Love the food! Prices are reasonable considering everything nowadays is so expensive. We had Nasi Goreng and Char Kway Teow. Really good, in fact - all other Malaysian restaurants - if you find you are losing clientele, it’s because Ming’s chefs are better, quicker and waiting staff are friendlier.

Absolutely recommend this place. Just note opening days and times. They are busy weekdays lunch times but food is pretty quickly delivered to your table.
Will be back with more friends.

Delicious Char Kway Tweo and Hainanese Chicken Rice!! Reminded me so much of when I visited Malaysia and had those dishes there. It tasted pretty authentic! I can’t wait to dine here more. Also nice service and atmosphere.

Really good food by far one of the best Malaysian dishes serves here. Ask about authenticity, is close enough and surely the place to go for. Bought Yee Sang here for the CNY celebrations, spot on. Is the most authentic Yee Sang amongst others in canberra. Plus it is fresh!!!!

*Update* still one of the best Char kway teow around!

Disclaimer: Bear in mind that this is comparing against what Canberra has to offer.

Easily one of the top two Malaysian restaurants, maybe just nudging ahead of a nearby restaurant (Madam Lu's).

We ordered char kway teow, silky egg flat noodles, nasi lemak with beef rendang and mee goreng Mamak. The first 3 were fantastic and pretty authentic!

CKT is my go-to Malaysian dish since I've been young and this is really good, probably slightly better than Madam Lu's offering (which is pretty good too). Wah tan hor fun (silky egg flat noodles) was tasty. Nasi lemak had a good balance of flavours with the rendang being extra fragrant! Mee goreng mamak was ok but I've never really grown up with it so can't really comment.

All noodles were cooked to perfection, with a bit of Al dente texture intact.

Prices and portions were reasonable (again, Canberra standards), easily feeding an adult with one dish. We shared 4 dishes between 4 adults (2 small eaters), a young boy and a toddler.

Yummy and will definitely be back + recommend others!

Why do we always come back? Because Ming's always delights! Whether its group lunches, team lunches or a quite weeknight dine in, Ming's delivers. I'm progressively working through their menu and have never been disappointed. When every dish is a winner - well, you're onto a winner here!

Came here on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy but that may have been because there was only one front of house staff that had to do takeaways and dine in. Nevertheless it wasn’t slow and we got our food after about 10 minutes.

I had the hor fun - think they called it something like silky egg gravy, my partner had the beef rendang and a roti. Now I consider myself a hor fun / wat tan hor / silky egg gravy on flat rice noodle connoisseur so I was very impressed that a) the noodles were fried before the sauce was on and b) there was the familiar wok hei flavour that I knew and loved. Places like Papparich do not fry their noodles in this particular dish. The only development point on this one is that the prawns could do with more flavour.

The beef rendang was pleasant, maybe tending to the slightly sweeter end of the scale with no heat to it but there are many versions of rendang in Asia and so I’m not overly familiar with what it is like anyway. Roti was delicious!

Reasonable prices at around $40 for the meal, I want to come back and have the assam prawn and nasi lemak!

On the Final day of our Canberra Trip, we decided to go to Ming’s Pantry that we heard is know for it’s Char Kway Teow. Being Singaporean, Char Kway Teow is life so we have it a try. It was a nice small little retro looking restaurant, clean and cozy. The Char Kway Teow came really fast, so service was good. The Char Kway Teow itself was really nice, good amount of char, good portioning, not too salty though could have used a tad bit of kecap manis or sugar to add some sweetness. Spice was also well balanced. All in all nice restaurant with quality food👍👍

Tasty food at a good price. I had the signature chicken with chop rice. It was good but it would be a better dish to share than to have by itself

First time eating here and the service was fast and friendly during weekday office lunch rush, most tables reserved so lucky to get a seat for one inside. Hainanese chicken rice was just beautiful. I'll be back for more dishes!

Good, fresh, tasty Malaysian style food. Have been here a number of times with colleagues and always find service is quick and efficient. Food will come out as its ready so sometimes some of the table is left waiting while others have received their food, but the wait is minimal. The food is tasty and a range of dishes on offer from a laksa through to rice noodles and curry.
BYO wine and beer for a small charge which is reasonable.

Well that was a surprise. Food was absolutely superb. I had been expected just a hole-in-the-wall kind of quality, but found instead a real treat.

Highly recommended

A friend recommended this place for some great malaysian street food type dishes - ordered the nasi and bihun goreng - the taste really brought us back to the street food we had in Malaysia and Thailand -

Would definately recommend the bihun goreng (ask for extra hot) for an authentic taste!

Would come again
