Yurica Japanese Kitchen Reviews

We had heard glowing reviews about Yurica, so the three of us decided to have lunch there on 14/05/2024. Parking proved to be a challenge since street parking was our only option, and it was scarce due to the restaurant's location amidst high-rise residential buildings. After some deliberation, we opted to park at The Ranch and took a brief 5-minute walk across the street to reach the restaurant.

Our order included:

2 x Yurica Special Bento Box A (with Eel)
1 x Wagyu Beef Nabe Udon (only available for dine-in)
1 x Yuzu Iced Soda

The Yurica Special Bento Box A (eel) exceeded our expectations in size and variety. It featured an array of delectable offerings, including sashimi (3 x salmon sashimi), sushi (1 x salmon aburi, 1 x scallop aburi, 2 x tamago pieces), deep-fried items (Karaage Chicken, Pork gyoza, crab claw), salads (mixed and seaweed salads), pickles (4 different Tsukemono), miso soup, and a generous portion of eel as the main dish, accompanied by rice.

The Wagyu Beef Nabe Udon was equally impressive in size, with ample slices of fresh Wagyu beef and two Panko Prawn. Both the udon and the broth were exceptionally flavorful.

Considering the substantial portions, the Special Bento Box easily satisfied two adults, as did the Wagyu Beef Nabe Udon. I recommended sharing the Special Bento Box among at least one more friend and perhaps adding a sushi roll or smaller side dishes for sharing. Despite its $39 price tag, the bento box offered great value for money, especially considering the exceptional quality of the food. It worth mentioning that the Crab Claw that came with the Bento Box consisted of a substantial amount of REAL (not imitation) crab meat, truly impressive and delectable.

I'm particularly intrigued by their sushi rolls, which appeared to be equally substantial, and I'm already looking forward to returning to try them out. Their Pork Hock ramen looks delicious too and that's on my to-try list too.

The service was wonderfully friendly as well.

A really great and underrated Japanese restaurant in the Macquarie Park area with large portions. Sushi and sashimi are really fresh and everything just tastes amazing!

It’s cheaper if you pay with cash.

Absolutely phenomenal Japanese fare nestled in the restaurant row of the new unit blocks opposite The Ranch Hotel. Hidden well, but definitely worth the trip. The presentation, freshness, and taste of the food is of a calibre not often seen with Japanese cuisine outside Crows Nest and Cammeray. The price is a little higher than you'd usually expect to pay, but given the quality and portion sizes, the extra cost is well worth it. Yurica is now one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney.

Our 4th time dining at this fabulous Japanese restaurant. My husband says it’s the best ramen in Sydney, a lot of ingredient and full of flavours. One of our favourite Japanese restaurants in the area. We’ll definitely come back again soon 😊

We came here on a recommendation by a friend and we have no regrets! The staff are friendly and the food is tasty. We got the takoyaki, karaage, assorted sashimi, aburi scallop and a volcano roll. The sashimi is cut nice and thick (at least 1cm!) The volcano roll had a little heat and was extremely generous with the salmon! I would definitely go back again.

We came across this nice place by luck. We are always looking for good Japanese food. Well this is beyond good. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The food is so delicious! The best udon I have had. We had the Katsu Chicken Udon and the stock was so tasty! And the chicken juicy, tender and crispy. Everything was prepared with care and attention. The salmon Aburi melts in your mouth. We also had the Wagyu Beef Donburi which was very tasty. The kids had the kids bento boxes which they loved! And we also had the Katsu Chicken roll. I can only say that it was such a treat! The owner came to say hello and to make sure we were happy. He also gave the kids a chopstick training set. A wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.

Have seen so many good reviews about this and finally got the chance to try it. It exceeds my expectation. Food portion is so generous not to mention it looks so good. Most importantly the sashimi is very fresh and everything is just oishii! Very good value of money will definitely come back!

Great little Japanese place! Clean friendly easy to walk into free 1 hr parking on the side of street but not easy to find parking
No steps
Sitting space outside and inside
Light Japanese music playing put in great mood
Open kitchen so you see the chef and kitchen staff working inside
High sealing nicely decorated
A good menus
Playground next door for kids if you sit outside can watch them playing
I choose from menu on the wall
Craving tempura for a while so tried the Assorted tempura and crab claw!
This place is near MQ University and a great lunch place if you feel like meeting off campus
The portions are big enough and really delicious! The assorted tempura 4.95/5 as it could be a bit lighter on the crispy part and crab claw 4.99/5 as could be a bit crunchier but really amazing compared to my other experiences! Highly recommended and will be back! Enjoy

Nice little place.
We live locally, so have been eating there every other day since the day they have opened.
On fish, I see the fresh stock is being delivered to this shop on my regular walks several times a day, so any complaints about 'not-so-fresh' products are scums trying to get a discount.
Some dishes are less to my liking, but it's a matter of personal taste. I love how they deal with raw fish, really unrivalled.
I won't say they are the cheapest on market, but their sashimi are worth it.
They have a new range of really good ice-creams, it a bit softer than usual, but it is a fault of the freezer.
Regular update. Ice-cream is getting better, new ranges introduced. A new high class chief is in, made me love chicken again.
Hint: Good place for dates.

The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. The food was really good food too. We tried the spicy miso ramen, salmon aburi, teriyaki salmon bento, and their signature wagyu lover. They were all so fresh and tasty, the portions were decent too for the price. Highly recommend!

Just had a curry here for a colleagues leaving lunch. Fantastic value and the serving size was huge. Might be noisy if there were more people but we had a party of 7 and were doing most of the talking. Highly recommend.

Happy to find a good neighbour Japanese restaurant. Assorted Sashimi Don, Raw Tuna Avo Roll are recommended. Ordered pork katsu curry but the rice is a bit hard, the mild curry is not spicy and suitable for kids, but you have option to spicy which is really hot . Soft shell crab is very juicy.

A little gem in the middle of busy place. Had the special bento and sweet & sour chicken. The eel was so soft and they melt in your mouth! The salmon sashimi was fresh. Seaweed salad was sensational! My partner loved the chickens. We also loved the chocolate mochi. Our only issue was finding parking because it was right in the middle of multi apartment complex.

The sushi is very big and thick.
It tastes sweet every time you chew it and it’s really delicious. The staff also kindly tells you how to eat. All staff are Japanese
equivalence. So kind.
