Lachlan's Old Government House

We held our wedding and reception at this venue and we could not have been any happier.

We were unlucky enough to have had to reschedule several times over the past two years due to the pandemic. Martin and the team were nothing but accomodating and helpful.

There are many beautiful spots we could choose for the ceremony and it was set up beautifully with care and attention.

We asked for a high tea for our reception and we have nothing but praise and compliments from all our guests on the quality of the food and the promptness and care of the staff.

Was looking for places to enjoy a nice High Tea in Parramatta. I had a choice between here and the other down the park.

Ultimately I decided to bring my Mother here for her Birthday - and we were not disappointed.

First day of spring and the day couldn't be more perfect; sunny and warm.
Was seated on the verandah and was promptly served. The scenery is nice and the vines add a nice touch.

The staff Delja and Martin are absolutely wonderful. Their service is great, are very friendly and attentive to your needs.
Delja makes a delicious coffee.

I will be back again, as I enjoyed very much.

Visited here for the first time with a group of friends. The place is beautiful. Really liked that there was on-site parking because Parramatta is a pain to find parking at times.

The staff was lovely. The food was filling and they were able to cater to our different dietary needs, but would love to see a bigger variety of teas.

Overall it was a good environment and had a lovely time.

we had a wonderful time celebrating my friend's bridal shower at this location. we had the marquee all to ourselves, the food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful. would definitely recommend this location for anyone organising a party/function. we decorated the marquee beforehand and it looked wonderful!

We changed our venue to Lachlan's last minute. Due to the bad weather, we needed a venue inside. Lachlan's was super accommodating and easy to communicate with up until the event date. I asked a million questions via email, Martin was always prompt and clear at responding. The venue shares a floor plan to indicate how the marquee is set-up. The space was much bigger than I expected. There was a microphone and sound system included at no extra cost. A large cake table and gift table was also provided. Service on the day was excellent and there was plenty of 'high-tea' food for adults and children (even for a number of pregnant women and us Lebanese)! Thank you again to the team, we were kept dry & safe.

The best kind staff and the best food. Grounds are nice, dining rooms have wood fireplace and/or air con so it's very regulated.
Some sound can travel between rooms even if the connecting doors are shut however this would be normal in any restaurant. Parking close to the restaurant can fill up and it is dark outside/no dedicated footpath.

Get the succulent lamb shanks and tasty sticky date pudding! The service may not be the fastest, but it is very friendly. So prepare for a long lunch in the quiet setting of the old governer's house courtyard on the beautifully old grape vined terrace. I'll be back again.

What a delightful find in a huge park right next to Parramatta. Super friendly and lovely service. Was so relaxing to sit on the verandah sipping tea and enjoying the scones and lemon tart in the mid-afternoon. Main menu looked delicious too.

Great atmosphere with stunning interior and exterior design. Keeping the heritage style this is a great place to celebrate moments. The Garden Buffet package is great for a group of 30 to enjoy a private room.

Great Christmas Day lunch. We were on the verandah which has a lovely ambience with the grape vines and access to the grounds meant we could wander around between courses with the toddler. Food was excellent and plentiful and the staff were wonderful!

Great service! We had our staff Christmas / farewell / birthday lunch here and it was such a lovely experience. The whole venue and the outdoor seating area is beautiful. As soon as we sat down we were instantly relaxed and time slowed down to what felt like a long and lazy Sunday brunch. The service was fantastic, friendly and so much attention to detail. The food was delicious and the desserts were spectacular! Thank you for making our staff lunch so relaxing and memorable.

Excellent! We had a party of 16 for high tea on 24th April 22, the venue was great, we were given our own private room. The high tea was lovely, especially the scones, we had a lot of food left over and the waitresses gave us take away boxes to take the food home. Our waitress was lovely and did not rush us at all. Price was very reasonable for a high tea. Everyone was very happy with the venue, we can highly recommend Lachlan's Old Gov house

We had a bridal shower in the private marquee at Lachlan's Old Government House, and it was absolutely beautiful. Martin was very responsive to all communications prior to the event, and the service and staff on the day were excellent.

Everyone at the bridal shower loved the high tea, the beautiful set up in the marquee and grounds. Will definitely be back for another event or to try out the restaurant.

Firstly, the location has a wonderfully warm, rustic feel.

Their high tea is delicious, dainty, and almost luxurious for the price point.

Add to that lovely, accommodating staff with impeccable hospitality training, and you end up with the best special event experience one could ever ask for.

Went out to high tea with a few friends and had the loveliest experience! The food was delicious and the serving sizes were very generous. Phillip was our host, he was great! Really made the experience.

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday at Lachlan’s Old Government House. A delicious high tea was served after receiving a lovely greeting from Phill and his “young” colleague. Our champagne, orange juice and selection of teas were wonderful as was the beautifully set table and fine china.The gentlemen were so friendly and kind, even offering to take photos for us to help celebrate the occasion. We were even given chocolates as we left. I can’t speak more highly of our beautiful day. Thank you all.

High tea experience was on point. Started my experience with a warm greeting from the staff member. The staff were very attentive and very professional. The food was great, ideal serving bite sizes that filled us up, and we still had left overs. The scones were so light and delicious. Tea was unlimited.

I've already raved on about this place to my cousins and friends. I can't wait to go back again.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch here on 4 January. The atmosphere, the service and the food were wonderful. Congratulations on the pork belly.

It made our farewell to Australia so special. One of our guests had been a school boy at Kings school in the 1940’s and lived in the buildings surrounding our lunch table. He was so happy to be there.

Good wines at reasonable prices. The special reserve barossa was very special.
