Dr Arun Shanker

Today we visited Dr. Arun and we had a very nice experience with him. He behaved professionally and took plenty of time to explain everything related with our child development. Even more sent us home with peace of mind since his analysis derived in a positive conclusion about our baby's health.

I really enjoyed my experience with Dr Shanker as he made us feel welcome and also was very kind and professional about helping me with my son's diagnosis. He also gave me information about my son's diagnosis to help me more. I would absolutely recommend Dr Shanker to my friends and family.

Saw Dr Shanker today who was very clear, polite and personable. Took the time to explain everything in simple terms, while always having a smile on his face. It's clear he is very knowledgeable and we wouldn't even consider finding any other pediatrician.

Not sure where these one star reviews have come from because the experience my wife and I had with our 10 week old boy was exactly what you hope to have when seeing any doctor, consultant or specialist.

We have been seeing him for my older children for the past 3 years. I had twins prematurely and have been seeing him for them also since their long hospital stay. We love his honesty. Always happy to answer questions and explains his reasoning and actions. Not quick to prescribe medication. Very hard to find a doctor as thorough and knowledgeable as Dr Shankar.

Dr Shanker has seen my twins since birth, now 5yrs old. He is very patient, professional, thorough, caring and takes the time to explain everything. Highly recommend.

Dr Arun was very concern about my 10 month old issue. He took the time to answers all questions and he is very kind with baby. I highly recommend him and im very surprised he had some bad reviews. Thank you again for your time.

What a shame - not sure what happened to him as he used to be nice. Saw him today for my 4yr old son and he is such a rude an unprofessional Doctor. i will never take my children anywhere near him again. Completely dismissed me and spoke over the top of me constantly. Didn't even bother to read the medical reports and told me x rays don't tell you anything!!! he just pigeon holed my son which is very upsetting. I will be reporting him to the medical board. he shouldn't be in this field the way he conducts himself.

The worst doctor I met in my life. This doctor finding so many disorders in normal children.My child life will be good if I never met this doctor.God won't leave this type of people who is finding autism in a three year old.My child is in a sleepy mood before going to this doctor.Such a useless doctor.Atfirst I thought wrongly that this is a doctor.The First and Worst child doctor.This is my feedback in my point of view.Consulting fees is too high and not worth for this old doctor.He is worst and he will be find out by everyone soon and he will be out of this job soon by spoiling child's life.This doctor is full free and having no appointments if he met a child he is paying attention to earn the fees as much as his needs.So he is finding autism in a child he met so that he can earn finally he deserves not be a doctor this is my opinion after meeting this doctor.Such a poor doctor.

Very impatient and rude doctor. Has ages old weighing machine...will not even remove diaper of pre-term babies before weight check even if you request him. Does not listen enough to parents and their concerns....a dictator doctor and will not offer environment for a cordial discussion. Will only say his things and will cut you down and not answer, if you don't agree to him. Very bad experience visiting him, felt like walking off because of his rude behaviour. Really AUD 250 consultation to him and his behaviour is not at all recommended. Not going to visit him again and will not advice others as well.

I never leave bad Reviews but I just had a less than five minute appointment with the doctor and got ADHD medication without looking at school papers or my check list just a few comments from me. Gave me hardly any information and when I asked questions about symptoms and research behind this medication he told me he told me everything already either give him the medication or don't.

Ive left not knowing anything except he might not be hungry and it lasts four hours. And come by back if it doesn't work or he needs more in six months.
I'll need to do a lot of research and speak to other doctors. My gp took a lot of time to explain as much as he could and told me paediatrician would tell me everything I needed to know and be the best person to answer any questions.

I'm concerned about other parents seeing him. I know he is cheaper than other doctors but should he maybe finish up and retire if he is unwilling to answer questions about medications and diagnosis?
