Tandoori Guru

My whole family and friends visited South Australia from Melbourne where we have found this Gem in Whyalla. What a perfect place to eat really Authentic Indian food. Excellent service as we don’t even have bookings. Owner and all the workers are just fantastic and off course highlight of the visit was food which was just amazing and real authentic Indian food. I think this is so far the best Indian restaurant I have been visited in Australia. Good luck tandoori guru and keep up the amazing work . Thank you so much we will visit again.

- excellent staff - always smiling and welcoming
- delicious food.. must try Goat Curry 👌 The pot in which the goat curry was served should be a bit bigger so that the food doesn't fall while serving to your dish..
- the plain wholemeal roti was good too..
- rates are not bad..
- 4-5 parking lots reserved just next to this restaurant... Otherwise free street parking is available..
- toilets are clean..
- The whole restaurant is kept pretty clean and presentable

Great Indian, tandoori chicken had a fantastic flavour.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the Upper Spencer Gulf, and one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in SA.

The atmosphere is light, airy and simple and the service is no-fuss, but the kitchen is the real deal. Every damn time the food is next level.

My husband and I love Indian food. After living for a decade in Dubai with lots of good Indian restaurants, we miss having the real Indian food. This restaurant definitely worth to visit. A nice colorful ambience.

I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a friendly and good place to have a Indian food. I'll be back for sure. The prices are fair for the quality and services. I ordered Mater Panner ,Paratha Naan and the Lassi for dessert.

Me and my husband enjoyed the samosa Chaat at Tandoori Guru. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so good and they hold the traditional and cultural items in the restaurant. I specifically like the greenery, open kitchen and the way they treat the customer with full respect. I really appreciate head chef who is very nice and all the time make fun, feel like you are at home. The front as well as the kitchen staff is very nice, cooperative, supportive, and energetic.

The food was amazing. I've never seen such a clean restaurant and well presented waitresses. You won't be sorry if you give them a go. And did I mention the prices. The most expensive dish was under $17. How do they do it? We're coming back for another spoiling tomorrow night.

This restaurant comes close to the best Indian food we've ever had. Great food and wonderful service, I couldn't recommend more highly of this place. Its a pity we don't live closer. I meant to take a photo before we ate but we ate it too fast it was so good.

The best indian food I have tasted in Australia.. must try.. I ordered the garlic and cheese naan and butter chicken.. it was very delicious compliments to the chef

matar paneer was delicious, packed with flavour. mango lassi one of the best we have had! loved the vegetarian options

A very friendly atmosphere with friendly service. The food was excellent. But the fish was outstanding. Unique and flavoursome right down to the last drop. It was a pleasure to meet all the staff and to greet them for the wonderful meal they prepared. Guru and his staff worked as a wonderful team, highlighting their warm and friendly service and took time to introduce their menu. Thank you for the wonderful dinner. 🌻

My friend and I had a dinner here and we liked the environment in the restaurant. Comfortable space, friendly service. We ordered a butter chicken and prawn curry with basmati rice and garlic naan. They tasted yummy, prawn curry was full of flavour and spices, but not sure if the butter chicken is authentic or not. Lol While we were dining, there were lots of people came to get takeaway, the waiting times for them seem not too long. The serves look small but they were actually filling.

A lovely meal for the family, excellent quality, friendly staff, reasonably priced and very timely service. Highly recommended

Definitely best Indian restaurant not only in whyalla but all over south Australia. True Indian authentic food. Food is scrumptious, quality of ingredients is very fresh. Ambience is quite good with great hygiene all over. Daily go to for dine in or takeaway in whyalla. Been coming here regularly for work and eat here everyday. Staff is friendly and they litsen to your needs. Had this custom request and chef was a game to do it for me in very peak time.

Very good experience with Tandoori Guru Restaurent, staff was very professional and friendly. Well maintained hygiene and it was very tasty brunch. will love to enjoy a meal here. The Butter Chicken very nice along with other dishes we had. Highly recommended.
