Sumthin' Tastee

It's been a while since I have been so uncertain what to choose from the menu. So much variety to choose from. I chose the squid wrap which was amazing! I was tossing up between that and the fried chicken and waffles. My wife had the beef and bacon burger. We both had a banana smoothie. It's a pity we are leaving Whyalla tomorrow morning, I definitely would have been back to try more of the menu. Well, I came back for breakfast before leaving Whyalla. I had the waffles with eggs and bacon with maple syrup. Absolutely beautiful. My wife had French toast. She loved it. The coffee was great also.

They can't spell but they can cook!
A small casual café with great food and coffee, friendly service and good value.
We had lunch and returned after a walk for takeaway cake and coffee.
Recommended.

Friendly service and great food. The chips are phenomenonal as are the drinks.
If you're not super hungry you could DEFINITELY get away with cutting and splitting a meal with a friend or partner or little one or pet! :)

Saw a lot of dogs, kids and sunshine so rather friendly and a nice place with a great menu with choice and variety for everyone

There's an undercover place for if you want to sit in the shade, not burn in the sun and hear your order called out (they call your name not a number so be ready to give a name!)
There's an outside area if you want more sun and a different environment amongst the dogs ❤

phenomenal. towards the end of the day, was told the only fish they'd had available still was the nannygai. being from wa and not even knowing what that was, i cautiously accepted. long story short, some of the best fish ive ever had. cooked and tasted perfect. wouldn't change a thing :))

Stopped here on our way down the Eyre Peninsula and on the way back and the food was always spot on. Best value in town and the seafood basket was so fresh and generous in portion. We shared it as it was quite large. Do yourself a favour and visit here!

Wow, what an excellent place for coffee and meals!
With uber friendly staff and a huge selection of food and beverage you can't go wrong. Coffee is excellent as is the food.
It does get busy, however, wait times are minimal.
You can sit outside or in.
Definitely on a winner here.
We kept going back everyday we were in Whyalla.
It is directly adjacent a reserve where there are walking paths, mini lakes with lawned areas, carpark, public toilets etc.

Great spot over looking the wetlands with bike path / walking track. Recommend stopping by for breakfast and or lunch ☕

Hands down the best cafe in Whyalla. Great food, big serves. Great friendly service and staff. A must, if driving through the town.

Absolutely fantastic, food was exceptional but excessive, could not eat it all. Incredible value and a beautiful setting at the wetlands. Only slight negative was the wait but as they say, good things take time.

Had lots of meals here, the first time I came here I had squid with chips and salad. Since then I always ordered the squid when I came here. In my personal opinion they have the most amazing squid in town! Unlike other squid I had before, either too small or too dry. Their squid is soft, big and flavoursome! Last few times I tried something different: squid wrap with chips! 😂 It is still amazing and as usual big serves. But I forgot to take photos for the wrap. Today my friend and I shared a seafood platter with chips together, and I remembered to take photos for it! And then I had a lemon cake after. Their desserts are always amazing too.

We have nice view when we are eating outside next to the wetland. The staff is always friendly and enthusiastic. Sometimes the food can be a bit slow but worth the wait. Recommend this place, if you come, you must try their squid! 😋

Everyone's friendly and nice here! Best foods, best staff, everything's great! Especially the food, which is the best food I've had in a while from a cafe like this!
They also gave us chips every morning, so I had to rate them 5 stars. Who wouldn't?!

Had a great breakfast here on our way out of Whyalla, huge servings with really good prices. We had the big brekkie and the salmon eggs benedict and both were great :) coffee and smoothies were great too!

TBH, Sumthin Tastee has to be one of the best cafes in SA. Today I opted for a tastee toastie! What's not to love about a simple cheese, tomato, spinach and home-made relish sandwich? Sooooo cheesy and fresh with the sweet tasting, beetroot relish adding magic to the mix. Support this locally owned family business and you will leave with a full belly and a smile on your face!!

This was amazing place for breakfast coffee. Everything that came from the kitchen made me envious I didn't order that.
Then there was the Amaretti baked cheesecake oh wow 10/10 dessert. Coffee was fantastic as well

Best coffee I tasted in Whyalla. i am so happy to invite my coworkers here and it did not disappoint. I usually order the egg Benedict because they are delicious. Yesterday morning I went for the Canadian French Toast. Yummy. Amazing, well priced food. The seafood basket was massive and the seafood was so delicious. Extremely impressed with the range and quality of the salad it came with- for no extra cost. Also highly recommend the iced coffee.
