CHU Restaurant by China Doll, West HQ

This restaurant was surprisingly beautiful and big. Especially since its located in rooty Hills.
Servings were generous. Maybe a bit too big if there's only 2 of you. Definitely better for groups. More smaller plate options would be good. Service was very good. I enjoyed it here. Lots of different drink options too. Including mulled wine.

We love Chu! Located inside West HQ, dimly lit and fitted with beautiful chandeliers & a giant budda, this stunning restaurant is the sister restaurant of the iconic China Doll in Sydney. Our go to for Asian food in Western Sydney!

Had my wedding reception at Chu and it was fantastic! Just what I thought, the restaurant’s decor itself is perfect for wedding dream. ☺ the food is amazing, full of flavours and my guests were all satisfied. The service were just on another level, everything was so smooth and very professional. Kudos to all the staff! ❤ Would definitely recommend Chu for events. 🫶

Wow what a wonderful evening/dining experience my family n I had here! We went here for dinner to celebrate my father's bday... Thank you Chu n staff for your hospitality n service! The food was delicious, fairly priced, but the service was world class!

Lovely ambient atmosphere with friendly and helpful waiting staff. Ordered the banquet, 50 pp which came with a good serving of food. Food was your usual asian dishes cooked and presented with higher standards. Got a variety of food dishes to taste so the price was reasonable.

We celebrated a family members birthday here toward the end of last year. The booking system was simple, parking was so easy & the venue was AMAZING. What a hidden gem in the heart of Rooty Hill. I don’t enjoy Chinese cuisine normally - however dining at Chu was the ultimate exception. The food was so delicate, beautiful & delicious. There were endless options, portion sizes were great & the wait staff were fantastic. The venue is so big! It’s decorated so tastefully (pardon the pun) & the price point is fair. We cannot wait to book another family celebration here. We’ve recommended Chu to all of our local & not so local family & friends. What an awesome local restaurant. 10/10.

Hosted a group dinner for my husband's birthday here. It was our waiter Jack's first day on the job and he did an amazing job. Super attentive and thoughtful. The service is really great and they make group bookings so easy!!! You can pre order before arrival or order on arrival. There is no minimum spend or mandatory set menu for a group which was so helpful especially with friends with kids. Food was amazing and the atmosphere is so luxe. Would come again. They also do something free of charge for bdays a really nice sorbet!

Our party of seven chose the $60 banquet for a special birthday celebration. Really happy with the service, the ambience of the restaurant, and the food was sensational - lives up to the reputation of China Doll. Chu elevates fine dining in the West. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of red and white wine. I recommend asking the manager Marcus on what to get as the red and white he chose for us went perfectly with the dishes. Thank you so much to the team who looked after us! And compliments to the Chef! We will be back again soon!

Beautiful atmosphere, service and food. We did the $65pp banquet which was great. Staff were just lovely, and special shout out to the music playlist they'd curated, such a good mellow vibe.

I had been to China Doll in the city so was looking forward to trying CHU at West HQ and was not disappointed! The ambience, the staff and the food is absolutely amazing. Thank you for making my Birthday celebration so great! Would highly recommend this restaurant, just fabulous.

We had a wonderful dinner of 4 entrees and 3 mains, all of which were delicious and generously portioned. The classic steamed barramundi was large and oh so tasty.
The steamed dumplings were full of flavour.
Excellent service. Great wine and cocktail menu.

What a lovely suprise! This is a wonderful space with a great atmosphere. The staff very attentive and friendly with nothing being a problem and the food was spectacular. Had the banquet for a group of 8 and no one walked away unsatisfied. Highly recommended, food 5 stars, drink 5 stars, service 5 stars! Thank you for a great night.

A little blip as we had to find someone to wave at to get service. They were so apologetic and explained they were short staffed. The maitre de came over and apologised again, lifting our time restriction (during events there is a time limit).
We were then surprised with a waiter bringing us a refresher drink as another apology. Amazing service, they really care about the customer.
The food was delicious. Salt and pepper calamari was so tender and crisp. Prawn & peanut San choy how had amazing flavours and so fresh.
Only downside for me was the Pork Belly was dry in the bottom.
Who knew this gem exists in Rooty Hill! Food is better than Mr Wong's hands down.

Fantastic restaurant which I could not recommend enough. I've been twice now, and every dish I've tried has been a winner. The atmosphere is great; friendly and attentive staff, spacious tables and comfy seating. This will be a go-to for special occasions

The service here was impeccable, all of the staff were extremely attentive, on the ball with drinks and jokes and compliments, and the food came out quite fast, but at the same time didn’t feel rushed.

The friendly staff at Chu squeezed us in without a booking on new year's eve. The food was incredible, and the service excellent. The best out west!

Visited for the first time yesterday for Yum Cha. All the food was amazing especially the Canadian scallop and prawn shu mai, the spare rib special and the pork spring rolls. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic food and service and really well priced. The cocktails are amazing and so cheap too! Definitely recommend this and probably the best restaurant experience I have had in Western Sydney

Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for somewhere offering great service, intimate ambience and delicious food! We had the best experience and service at this restaurant - you will not be disappointed. We booked the private table/area for a special occasion and the staff were lovely and very accommodating leading up to and during our lunch.
