Laurie Collins metal sculptor

It was an amazing experience visiting Laurie Collins' collection of metal sculptures. Loved the story behind each and every one of them. The positive vibes and energy in his gallery and workshop was the highlight of our day. we definitely will visit him again.

We'd seen a brochure at our accommodation about Laurie's Sculpture Garden as both of us are whimsical artists ourselves, we had to visit. What a lovely surprise to find Laurie there himself in the middle of one of his eclectic creations. We chatted for a while then looked at the current exhibition inside. Wow. Lovely pieces.
We then spent around a half hour walking around the grounds where there are an abundance of amazing pieces. Whether made from old bike rims or engine blocks, there is something for everyone here. Many of you will say 'I remember those' or 'my grandpa used to have one of those' because each piece is so different and has a story to tell.
You may need to look for some pieces as they can be low to the ground, in a tree, hidden behind another and so on.
Laurie was keen to show us his laser cutter which to me was so sweet. He made us our own little icon octopus for free but we dropped him a $20 to say thank you.
There are no refreshments on site but there are toilets. Plenty of parking onsite as well. I'm sure if you wanted to site under a tree and have lunch Laurie wouldn't mind.
Do know that Laurie is an artist and like most artists is a generous soul. Please treat him, his family and his sculptures with respect.

A must see place indeed

A lovely morning spent here with my 2 children. Incredible range of art work, with Laurie himself taking lots of time to show me and the kids around, giving demonstrations and general kindness. Will definitely be back.

We visit Laurie's Studio last Saturday "Open Studios". I really did enjoy his Sculpture Garden and Gallery and a lovely talk. Thank you Laurie. I wish you still a lots beautiful idea...

This was a very interesting place. All the sculptures are made of recycled materials. Nice place for a stroll.

Great place to visit, art always for sale. Then off to Jindi cafe for coffee!

Sweet place to go with kids with a cool playground. Laurie is a charming man who makes very beautiful pieces and has a real passion for promoting artists in his nice new gallery.

Gorgeous gallery and garden. The artwork is interesting and thought provoking. Laurie is generous with his time to talk about art. Great facilities. My kids love playing there.

Wonderful discovery while exploring Gippsland. Would highly recommend a visit. Laurie's sculptures are amazing. Very thought provoking & his socio-political commentary is simply genius.
There's everything here - fun, whimsical & humourous pieces as well as intelligent, challenging & thought provoking pieces.

A large sculpture garden with filled with interesting steel sculptures ranging from amusing to edgy. And in the gallery smaller steel works of art. A great place to spend some time (free entry) and just down the road from the Jindi Caf' to get a coffee and food with nice view.

Always a treat to visit here. Laurie is wonderful to chat to, his gorgeous work is a pleasure to look at and exhibitions change monthly. A must-see in Gippsland.

Laurie is a very talented man. He obviously puts his heart and soul into his art. He is a very interesting person to talk to. Well worth visiting.

Love the imagination in his work. The more you look the more you see. So much detail. Sorry I live so far away. Maybe that's an advantage as I would be all the time puchasing garden ornaments! Very reasonably priced.
