Thalassina Fish & Chips

What a great fish and chip shop! I've had a few orders from here over the past year and they've all been excellent and good value.

Even the humble cod is served at a decent size, nice and thick and cooked perfectly - not overcooked and dry. And the crumb isn't oily.

The potato scallops are nice, and they always throw in an extra one or two if any of them are on the smaller side.

And the seafood salad is always packed with seafood flakes and a very good amount of prawns (the normal ones, not those tiny tasteless ones). Note that when you buy any of their fish and chip packs, it includes the choice of a salad - with seafood salad being one of them, making it even better value.

I'm sure there's other good fish and chip places around. But I often find their prices a bit steep. Whereas with these guys the quantity, quality and price are all good - so I don't have mich of a desire to go elsewhere.

Fresh fish with crispy batter and well fried. Did not feel oily at all. Incredible.

They also juicy sandcrabs so ready your napkins

This was the first time that I have been there but I can say i will be back the food is cooked perfectly and the chilli muscles are perfect and very well priced same for the rest of the seafood. The lady behind the counter is ever so pleasant pleasant

Always service with a smile here. Great range of food. I once had an order mixup and it was recooked in a flash even though I didn’t expect it, and done without any hesitation. I was very grateful

Full points (first time ever for me)! Had salt&pepper calamari with chips and coffee - food was perfect, portion generous and flat-white coffee tasty :) Service friendly and welcoming. Can only recommend, will be back!

Best fish and chips in West End! The crumbed Barra was absolutely beautiful, salads were fresh, my husband had his fish battered and it was perfect. Calamari are HUGE!

So good to see a new business here and so charming that it is doing the basics and doing them well.

Can definitely recommend. Buy some, wrapped in paper, take a short walk down the hill and eat them on the river bank.

I have been a regular customer for nearly two years.
To put it simply, this is the best fish and chip shop in West End 4101. Excellent variety in the menu, excellent quality of food, excellent sized servings, excellent value in price, excellent service provided by the staff.
I love the trifle desert! Try the trifle :)
Whatever you decide to eat, I am confident you will enjoy your food and be absolutely satisfied with the experience.

Very clean and welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff, fresh seafood selection, we had fish chips and salad and was very happy, portion size was spot on, price was very reasonable. The house made Greek salad and deserts are awesome. Will definitely gp back again. Very good fish amd chips are hard to find.

Great value for money ‘old style’ fish n chip shop. Home made potato scallops instead of those pre-manufactured ghastly yellow ones that have no taste. Lovely family run shop that is warm and friendly with some outdoor tables if you want to eat while there. After another West End shop doubled the price of their Qld flake ($15) we could not go back. Very happy with Thalassina.

Thassalina has quickly become our go to fish and chip store. From the lovely service and fresh produce, to the wonderful atmosphere and great variety of foods and coffee, lunch at Thassalina’s is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
