Dr Doug King

I have had four major surgical procedures including knee replacements and an ankle fusions performed by Dr Doug King. On each occasion Dr King and people who work with him have been supportive, professional and provided assistance above and beyond. Dr King always takes time to discuss and explain the diagnosis using models and imagining. He provides non-surgical and surgical treatment options making sure the details of, and probable prognosis, for each option is understood by me. He has never rushed me to make a decision rather empowering me to make a decision about my treatment at my pace. I have complex co-morbid conditions which causes additional not insignificant challenges to medical interventions. On each occasion Dr King’s highly accomplished assessment and treatment expertise contributed greatly to successful outcomes. I confidently recommend Dr King as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

I went to see Dr Doug King (Dr King) with a few fractures in my foot and ankle that could have jeopardized my chances to play sports and walk properly again. I perceived Dr King as a very professional and knowledgeable surgeon. He explained in detail the pros/cons of each option provided and answered all my questions at the first appointment and all subsequent appointments and emails.

Before each surgery, he ensured that I was comfortable and calm and answered any questions very well. He also followed up with me post-surgery

Dr King is a very talented surgeon that helped me get back on my two feet so that I can play sports and go back to the regular activities that I am much more appreciative of!

Eight weeks ago I had a left knee replacement with Dr King as my surgeon. I am very happy with the result, and for the care I received from Dr King, his Theatre staff and nursing staff at the Mater Private. Also his admin staff . A big thank you to you all.
Sometime in the future I will return to have my right knee operated on and will have no hesitation going back to Dr King.
Dr King also operated on my foot in 2015 with excellent results.

Dr King was a fantastic surgeon for when I tore my meniscus in July 2020. I had an arthroscopy in August 2020 and attended Dr King for follow up appointments. I found Dr King to be incredibly knowledged and inspired me to keep dreaming of hitting the netball again. Since I last saw Dr King, I attended physio and this last week was able to run on a netball court and train again without any bother. All thanks to Dr King and his team! I am so happy I can run around again on a netball court!

My knee surgery and recovery were a stress free success thanks to Dr King and his team. I have now had Dr. King do 3 surgeries (totally non-related) and the care and treatment on each has been absolutely top-notch. He listens and is open and candid with any information you ask for. Obviously, the fact that I have returned for different surgeries mean that I completely trust him and know he will do a top job.

By far the best surgeon I have even come across, having actually dealt with a lot in the past 9 months I can say with confidence that Dr King is the king. And I find him to be very easy and pleasant to Deal with.

Great results from surgery to repair damage to one knee, excellent advice on how to manage damage to the other knee. Knowledgeable and very thorough both before and after surgery, highly recommend Doug King if you need this type of treatment.

Dr King was excellent. Dry humour, very caring, extensive knowledge. On all follow-up visits Dr King went above and beyond. Definitely a good guy and great doctor and surgeon.

Dr King was able to see me immediately and had me in surgery the following week. Good post op treatment and feel I can ask any questions at anytime.

Dr King repaired my right ankle in 2012 or so. An amazing job. Never had a problem since.

I was very pleased with all the care I had with Dr king after my knee surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Did a great job, had no trouble since.

My wife and I visited Mr King to get a second opinion on corrective surgery as recommended by a surgeon earlier this year. We were met with nothing but dismissiveness, lack of empathy and complete lack of interest. The consult was of no benefit whatsoever. I could've suggested trying a different pair of shoes, Mr Kings only contribution.
We made them fully aware of the fact we were self funding the medical expenses. Mid consult we were informed he only works with people in health funds, then why agree to meet with us in the first place.
Appalling from someone in the medical profession.

Absolutely the worst Surgeon I have ever met. Not only is totally incapable of fixing his mistakes he leaves it to other surgeons to fix them.

Needs to greatly improve bed side manner.
