Bowen Hospital

Thank you for the care and attention given to my husband Michael Reynolds recently when he was unwell and needed rehydrating overnight and for the follow-up tests carried out at the hospital. We are now returning home with the paperwork showing the relevant information that he can pass on to the hospital consultant. Thank you to everyone involved it was very much appreciated. Best wishes to all the excellent staff at Bowen Hospital.

A big thank you to the wonderful medical team at Bowen Hospital, especially Dr Myra. Nurse Nick and Medical Imager Jack. I fell on slippery rocks and fractured my wrist whilst on a camping holiday in Bowen with our young grandson and niblings. This lovely team of medicos had me sorted, xrayed, plastered and back with the family in less than 2 hours! Wonderful care, knowledgeable, kind and professional staff and definitely the friendliest welcome I've ever encountered from a medical Imager- so appreciated on a challenging day.

Recently I had an unexpected accident (15/07/2021) while visiting Bowen’s Horseshoes Bay and end up in the Bowen Hospital Emergency ward. From the minute I checked in all the staff were very attentive & friendly especially Dr. Skye, Dr Peter , Radiologist and nurses who take very good care of me. Dr. Skye with her warm friendly smile make me feel so at ease even thought I was in such a agony & shock. My husband & I are VERY VERY GRATEFUL & THANKFUL to The Super Teams in The BOWEN Hospital Emergency Wards

While visiting Bowen I felt quite sick with flu like symptoms aches and pains then I started coughing blood which was quite worrying went to the emergency section and was attended to without delay , was diagnosed with influenza A resulting in pneumonia. I couldnt speak more highly of the nursing staff and drs. for the care I was given during my stay much appreciated. Henk Welten

Last week, my unwell husband was treated promptly, with multiple tests conducted. His transfer via chopper to Mackay was organised very efficiently. Our thanks to all the wonderful staff involved, especially Bui.

I would first like to thank all the staff that worked effortlessly, even though they were pushed well beyond their limits it once never showed. I understand that people can be very sick and not know what they are doing or saying. This is raletively rare, even though I witnessed on a number of occasions people who seemed to believe the nurses in particular were there as their own personal assistant. Cmon ladies and gents you DO know better!!!.
And if you don't like something how about just biting your lip and consider what it would be like in some other country's.

Just had to visit the Imaging Dept for an Xray...Imaging receptionist was rather rude. The only thing she said to me was "sign on the dotted line". I had to ask where to go. Seemed like too much trouble. Not a pleasant experience at all. On the other hand, Radiographer (introduced himself) was so lovely and explained everything clearly. Thanks Chris. The 2 stars are for Chris - none
for receptionist. How hard is it to be kind and helpful?

This is review for your emergency room.If I could I'd do zero not 1 star .. poor service... came here 4 times in past 2 months.. with my partner.. or my son.. always let us waiting in room for hours .. with my son I came with vomiting huge pain in his belly at 7am .. left home at 5pm with some kids belly virus from food.
Last one came with my partner with fever, chest pain..cough and they left him sit outside on the wind waiting for 1 hour even after negative covit test didn't let him sit in side I waiting room.
Seriously this is where money of taxpayers goes.

Brought my FOUR year old son in yesterday with a sore ear and we were just ask to go and sit out in the cold. And a test was done and a Nurse came out and confirmed he has Covid (which he doesn’t ) as we have done several other test including the one that is very effective and it came back negative every time. We are not from here and told we weren’t allowed to go home and the lady that was caring for him could not have been more rude with the things she was saying in front of my four year old that was making him cry and scared to what would happen with him in having this virus that he doesn’t even have..
Absolutely disgusted. Never again. And after all of that he didn’t even get to see a doctor

Isn't the hospital a place to take care of and treat sick people? Why are you becoming racist? My friend was sick and went to the emergency room, but he responded in a very rude manner, and it is important to wear a mask. However, they asked her to take off her mask, saying her voice was small.It was very rude, and their attitude was very unfriendly. I also want you to be sick and suffer from such unkindness and rudeness in other countries.

Went up the night prior and was told to come back between 8-10am to see a doctor. Came in, checked in, told to wait. I arrived at 8:22am, it is 10:22am and still no one. Disgusting seeing as people who have arrived after me have gone in before me.
