If you want honest, trustworthy advice and experience, go straight to Rex at RAW. I had been to other mechanics who told me I needed a new gearbox or new car. Rex put my car up on the hoist, did a quick diagnostic test and identified it needed a transmission service only. Rex's mechanical experience and superior customer service skills will keep me coming back year after year. Highly recommended!

Fantastic and honest service. They inspected my vehicle for what I thought was a suspected bent rear shock absorber, found it was all good and did not charge me for their trouble. Would highly recommend them.

My car is also an important car, it's a nice car and not a standard vehicle, yet wasn't an issue for them. Also very reasonably priced as normally your charged extra for import or prestige car, but they do not!

The men operating this business actually care about doing a good job. Rex and Michael are genuine people, helpful, friendly and sincere. They very much know what they're talking about and do quality, efficient work. Having been in Hervey Bay for four years, I'm quite pleased to have discovered a business I wasn't really aware of previously, where your custom is welcomed and the operators do their best for you. I won't be taking my Ranger 4x4 anywhere else but to RAW Mechanical for all my future needs.

The boys at Raw Mechanical were very helpful. They installed my snorkel and did a fantastic job. Highly recommend these guys if u are in need of any work done for your 4x4.

i had initially gone to cars plus mechanical when i moved to hervey bay because of the reviews but although the mechanic was really good (DAN), unfortunately i never got to speak to the mechanic and the guy at the front counter couldn't adequately answer my questions and basically would have had me getting work done that i didn't really need ASAP and would have had me not get the work done that I REALLY needed. so i went looking for another mechanic which i could talk to who wasn't going to BS me and try to overcharge me. i rang around quite a few mechanics but michael the mechanic at this place hooked me with his genuine nature and honesty on the telephone. so i took my car there for his opinion. he did his apprenticeship at toyota. anyway, i was impressed and i was so relieved when he told me that the $1500 of work cars plus mechanical quoted me as needing didn't really need doing yet and he also explained why my alternator really needed replacing first and foremost and none of the other stuff didn't need replacing for at least another 6 months plus. so then michael rang around to try to get me the best price on an alternator which he didn't have to spend his time doing. i wondered why these guys weren't busier but i realise that as michael doesn't suck people into getting work that isn't really necessary unless you've got plenty of money and hte car is worth alot, then i can see how they wouldn't have the appointment book filled up with work that doesn't really need doing. and the guy at the front counter was realy patient with me while i explained all of the issues that i apparently had with the car. he seemed like a genuinely nice guy too - i think he owns the place but is not a mechanic.
