The Wickham

I had a fabulous time dancing at The Wickham. The drag shows were top-notch, with energetic performances spaced perfectly throughout the evening. The DJ was great and kept us moving until the end of the night.

The crowd was diverse and welcoming, adding to the vibrant feel of the place. The outdoor dance area was great, although there was a slight issue with an occasional unpleasant odour, likely from stagnant water or plumbing.

Overall, The Wickham offers a fantastic, inclusive night out with great music, fantastic people, and wonderful performances. Highly recommend for a fun-filled evening!

In all honesty I was a bit apprehensive about visiting the Wickham, but how wrong I was.
It's so inclusive and everyone is so welcoming.
I've been there twice in the last few weeks with my girlfriend and we've had an absolute ball. Never judge a book by it's cover. Hidden gem of the city 👌

August 2023: The Wickham, the sophisticated sibling of the Brisbane Queer scene. Wonderful refurbishment subtly hints on sophistication and the well heeled. The service is brilliant. The drag shows, some of the best in the valley. Definitely a place to be seen and to mingle with like-minded professionals.

My first time going and it was awesome! So much fun, food is amazing, the vibe is out of this world and the staff especially Cookie, the kindest bartender I swear, are gorgeously sweet humans!! It will not disappoint, highly recommend!!!

Been here a few times, always a good time, nice bar and friendly staff... food was good too. fries and pizza, yum.

I organised a pub crawl for local history enthusiasts and we were warmly welcomed by Betty. Not only was she friendly and full of information about the building, she even went to the trouble of showing us a trap door in the floor that led to an underground storage place. We were not allowed down there for safety reasons, but we greatly appreciated her taking the time to share this fascinating aspect the hotels history with us. Am looking forward to returning and leaning more about the place. Betty is truly wonderful.

Come here once a week for lunch and always happy with the food and the service. Good range of standard pub food at decent prices. My favourite is the hotdog 🌭 and fries 🍟 ...as you can see from the photos, but the chicken schnitzel Burger is great too (ask for it with cheese!). Compliments to Jordan for his service with a smile and best attitude 👍

I got to go back to my FAVE current Brisvegas Queer (much faster than typing every letter) Hotel on Monday 18 March 2024. It was a Wednesday night, chicken parmi and a schooner of beer for $20. Great value for money and also a generous portion too. Service was good too.

Since moving to Fortitude Valley, I've always found myself heading to the Wickham Hotel for a beer or dinner with my mate. One day, I noticed how cool and colorful the exterior of the hotel looked, making it a great spot for taking portraits. I also had the chance to cover the Big Gay Out a few years ago, and it was an amazing experience. Anyway, the Wickham is one of the only places in the Fortitude Valley that still plays good music and offers reasonably priced food and drinks. 10 out of 10!

This is a great place for any occasion. It's a great place where you can socialise and have a dance, or enjoy a drink. The Wickham is a safe place as well where you can meet new people, relax and check out the shows.
The drag shows are full of life, emotion and sometimes laughter, they are hosted by local big drag personas. The drag queens love a photo, and don't forget to buy them a drink if you get to talk to them.
The Wickham also host a trivia night, the host running the show is welcoming and entertaining, he interacts with the guest and keeps them engaged. This is a great night out during the week to break the work week or to have a little escape from the norm.
The environment is very comfortable and casual, there is a feeling of being welcomed no matter your orientation, background etc.
The team is friendly and respectful of all patrons. They are always going above and beyond for the customer.
The menu has a variety of great options, it is casual yet very tasty and good value, the portions are a good size as well.
I recommend the tacos, they are very delicious, on fresh tortillas.

It's our home away from home. Staff are delightful AF. Love Trivia & Balls Out Bingo. Rockin concert venue & just great for catching up with mates to unwind after work... The Wickham is hands down my fave Brizzy Venue.

Came for the Men Xclusive event last weekend. Wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve been to a few events here over the years and they did not run well for what we paid. But wow, I can say it was the best event I’ve been to at The Wickham. It was so well organised, the atmosphere was next level (SO FUN) and the little Blonde running around making everyone feel welcome was the best!! Vibe.

We’ll be back if this is the new level. It’s like the old school Queer vibes like the old days!

Came here for my 19th Birthday and received a very sweet birthday text and we had amazing service. Staff were incredible and very accommodating. Will be back.

What fun trivia night with Mr Paul Wheeler at the garden bar. Entertaining and fun! We can’t wait to come back!! Paul you’re too amazing .... still trying to gain extra points wink wink 😂

Took husband and son there for afternoon refreshments on Sunday. A really nice place and I must say, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff though, both floor staff and wait staff were so great and made you feel welcome and want to go back. We stuffed up numerous times on the self ordering app but the manager was great (thanks ! Alex!)
