DR John R Burke

Contrary to the couple of negative views - my interactions are nothing but positive. I am female, and I have been seeing Dr B for at least 15 years. He is a straight talker, and he is very upfront and honest and very compassionate - obviously on one of these reviews someone didn’t like hearing that their weight contributed to their issues, sometimes we don’t like what we hear but hey that’s reality.

My dad has been see him over 20 years due to his diabetes he need kidney transplant. I have to say his been the most diligent doctor throughout all these years.

Been under Dr Burkes care for over 10 years. Hes very good a straight talker. And cares about his craft and patients.

I have been going to him since i was 13 and I’m now 57! Excellent doctor. Kind and caring too.😊

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I saw Dr Burke when I was 11 years old after I had been diagnosed with Lupus.
I once went in for the results of my kidney biopsy and came out of the appointment distressed and irritated due to the fact he had complained about my weight (despite not acknowledging that I was on 50mg of Prednisone at the time and weight gain on that medication dosage was basically inevitable)
He also ignored the fact I had actually gained over 20kg within 6 months due to the medication so my weight problem was the outcome of the meds that were helping me get better.

He never told me the results of my kidney biopsy. Had to insist and beg my rheumatologist to refer me to someone who was professional and would actually tell me.

I have never been to this guy , however I had a friend go to him who knew him for a very long time , she just opened up to me about how Dr Bourke treats his young female clients. Honestly disgusting, please whatever you do , do not go to Dr Bourke for kidney treatment.

Referred by workcover after poor response to treatment after an assault at work MH. Assessed over the internet. Reported I was frightened to return to work dispite working for over 30yrs with 2 weeks off sick in that time and multiple restraints due to assaulting behaviours. Report was full of errors, cut and pasted. Reporting all injuries was due to age and I should have recovered and be back at work. Burke by name.Be aware this guy is unprofessional and has likely written his report before he sees you. One report fits all reporting.
