Dr Phil Lockie - Brisbane Weight Loss Surgery

I am currently 3 months post my SADI procedure. Highly recommend Dr Lockie & his team for being extremely thorough in making sure I covered off everything I needed to know and everything I needed to do prior to surgery. Once in hospital, the teams care & caring was impressive! Once I was home, I had a mobile to text if there was anything concerning me. Now healthy, happy & 30kg lighter. Best thing I ever did and best team to do it!

I am currently 7 days post op roux en Y gastric bypass and can enthusiastically recommend Dr Phil Lockie and his holistic team of caring health professionals and reception staff that have supported my weight loss surgery journey from initial conversations through to post op care.
This is not lip service. The care I have received is connected, dynamic and holistic with huge importance placed on your honest, proactive interactions with Michelle the dietician, and Dr Michelle the psychologist, the regular monthly support group, and kind generous assistance from the reception staff.
I am very thankful indeed knowing that they have covered these bases of long term support that I will need moving forward to achieve my goals.

Shirley Lockie (Perioperative Nurse) is great at explaining the process and what their practice and team are about. She gave me confidence in the process and gently encouraged me to see things from all perspectives. Dr Lockie and his team are professional, personable and bend over backwards to make sure their patients are informed, looked after are are medically, emotionally and mentally safe and in the right frame of mind to proceed to the steps of surgery. I found their assistance invaluable and would highly recommend them as experts in their field. They may not be the "cheapest" but I can say with first hand experience they are well worth the extra costs from a safety aspect. If I had gone with another surgeon I believe I would have experienced complications that were picked up in initial stages which I will be eternally grateful for this. The admin team are first class who work very hard and efficiently to make sure you remain informed and aware of all appointments and any changes or issues that may arise. I loved that this practice had a whole team onsite and that they all communicate well together and are on the same page. I really appreciate all the care that I received and cannot recommend this practice and surgeon more.

Couldn't speak highly of Dr Lockie Team, my first surgery was great but after 12 mths, I started with complications, after some time we did the bypass and I am feeling great. This team has been with me every step of the way amazing follow up and and no question was left unanswered, I am extremely grateful to them for all their help

Couldn’t be happier with my results and it all stems back to the multidisciplinary approach Dr Lockie and the team have developed. I’m maintaining my loss and have never felt better. From the admin staff to the dieticians to the psychologist to dr Lockie and Shirley, I was welcomed and they always worked in as best they could with my schedule. I’ll be forever grateful to the team for my life back!

Arrived at 7am for laparoscopic Inguinal surgery walked out of hospital at 11:30am same day, 3 months ago, how goods that, no problems, thanks Dr Lockie and staff.

Highly professional, ethical surgeon.

I was welcomed by a consulting lady for half a hour, tried to tell her my previous problems including the surgery I just got done, thyroid problems and poor digestive system, which she couldn’t cared less.
She just nodded and carried on with her introduction of the surgery that can cut most of my stomach off and cost more than 5,000 dollars.
No matter what the problem is it seemed to her the only and all mighty solution is the sleeve operation.
Even I clearly showed no interest in doing that she still shoveled a book of flyers in my hands at the door.

This place shows absolutely no concern for patients’ happiness and well being but all in for their 5,000 dollar operation. They are more like real estate agents then doctors who are willing to help. Very certain I’ll never step in there ever again and will tell all my friends not to.

Incredibly incompetent and negligent. Every common side effect of weight loss surgery will be diagnosed as dumping syndrome. Strictures, gallstones, reflux, all will be called dumping syndrome because it's impossible to imagine a patient can stick to a diet. If you'd like the opportunity to be fatshamed while you get permanent organ damage from malnutrition and starvation, this is the place for you.

Please at least shop around before choosing. After he got his money he couldn’t care less what happened. Not only was he an utterly disrespectful guy when the patients mother isn’t in the room he just simply doesn’t care enough in comparison to another bariatric surgeon we have had and will never go back from. (Don’t bother with a reply please you won’t change my opinion)
