Kua Thai Isan Traditional Thai Restaurant.

My Thai friends took me here.
Many dishes looked delicious!

All my friend recommended me their Khao Soi.
Actually, I had been looking for Khao Soi for a long time, and I had already given up to find it on the Gold Coast.
So why not?

Their Khao Soi was way tastier than I imagined.
Not too spicy and a good match with the noodles.
It was a big potion but I finished immediately!

And I tried the salads my Thai friends like for the first time.
It was like “local Thailand taste”.

If you are a fan of Thai food, I surely recommend this restaurant! And of course, I want someone who hasn’t tried Thai food to try this as well!

So difficult to find an authentic Thai restaurant on the Gold Coast let alone in Southport..

A non descrip establishment from the outside and upon entry.. which is of no concern to my culinary requirements.. I am more interested in the authenticity and quality and flavours contained in my meal.

The menu is vast.. both in English and in Thai..feel free to discuss your requirements with the cook/owner.. although she may initially appear disinterested.. she is infact a very nice person who genuinely wants you to sample her Issan inspired cuisine.

Prices have increased over time.. though no more than other establishments across the Gold Coast.

As previously stated the ambience is .. understated at best.. however the quality of the cuisine makes up for this exponentially..

If you appreciate true Thai food.. this is definitely the restaurant for you..

I read with interest some reviews criticising the quality of the meals.. I can only suggest these people are ignorant of authentic Thai flavours..

You will not be disappointed here..

I ordered some thai food cause this place was near to my home. Great food and quick service. The place is tiny but cozy. It has open kitchen so can be a little noisy sometimes. Great menu and big portion for the amount you pay. I would recommend Pineapple fried rice with chicken and Pad kee mao. They have lunch menu as well with less pricing. Happy with my order.

10/10 The best Thai I’ve had!! We had pad see ew beef, pork fried rice, rotti (the bread is a tad crispy which is so yum!) and peanut sauce, curry puffs, chicken satay skewers, everything was awesome!!

Went with a group of friends, was just half an hour before closing, but staff were quite still welcoming, and we enjoyed our meal. The food was authentic and delicious, and there's a lot of variety to choose from. We ordered 5 different dishes to share (massaman beef curry highly recommended!) and there was plenty of food. Will come back again!

Wow, i have tried alot of thai on the coast and im always looking fir a place i can return too for its authenticity. Ive been to Thailand and know the taste. This is my new spot. The thai beef salad it’s indescribable the medium spice was perfect! Staff are lovely portions are huge i could not finish it all. Tom yum soup is the best we’ve found so far on the coast

Just like eating out in Thailand.
Had pork larb, pad Thai, som tam, sticky rice and Thai sausage. It doesn't get more authentic than this. Recommended by a Thai friend. Yum 😋

A wonderful thai restaurant on the gold coast! Love coming here and enjoying the food. Just like being in thailand. Highly recommend if you like a nice food and wonderful customer service 😀 love the chilli basil with pork mince!

Passed by this place by chance while we were in Southport and really enjoyed our meal! Portion was generous and the Khao Soi (which is hard to find around here) and Soft Bone Noodles were tasty, definitely an authentic experience.

Found this little gem randomly in what is somewhat kind of a dodgy part of Southport 🤣 But then again, where in Southport isn't dodgy, am I right?
Anyways, I had the lunch special, I chose the Chilli Basil beef, and my brother had the crispy pork and Kailan. I requested Kailan extra on the side like its own dish, but the legitimacy of this place was tested through their lack of fluent understanding of English. This meant they had to clarify a second time what I was requesting. Based on this interaction, I knew the food was going to be good 🤣 They didn't quite get what I wanted, but it worked anyway.
Very delicious chilli basil beef, I requested it hot, and boy, did I get HOT!!! Proper mouth burning sensation, but not enough to dull out the amazing licorice flavours of Thai Basil, which was in abundance here as it should be. The amount of beef was satisfactory, and the rice, as usual, was plentiful. They simply added steamed kailan to my dish, a decent quantity to which I just mixed in with the sauce.
The crispy pork and Kailan was also fantastic and again satisfactory on the meat side, especially for a lunch special where places often skimp on the protein.
Will be back for a proper meal 100%
Oh yeah, Thai Black Tea was way too sweet. This may have been another language barrier mix up in communication 🤣 However it did match the spicy food 👌

Small and cozy place. Food was just so tasty. We had a papaya salad, coconut soup with chicken, chili and basil beef. Had my favourite matcha milk tea as well.

Hubby, Miss 3 and I popped in here for lunch today - we were a little early but staff were very kind and accommodating. The venue felt very authentic with menus written in both Thai and English. We were given the option of spice level when we ordered and the food arrived quickly. We ordered soft bone soup, penang curry and mixed entree. Food was absolutely delicious - generous serves with lots of meat, with the spice level exactly as we ordered. There was more food than we could eat between the 3 of us, so we took home enough for dinner. It was the less busy end of Southport so parking was easy. Highly recommend!

They make the food hit us very differently with other Thai restaurants. It will always be our must go place. Front staff is friendly and helpful, food was served fast and atmosphere was warm. Deserve Michelin star not just 5 star gg review ❤
