Dr Leigh Rutherford

Ten years ago (2012) I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer (pNET) and the Whipple procedure offered my only chance of survival.
I was fortunate enough to have had Dr Rutherford as my surgeon and I am so incredibly thankful to him for his surgical skill, knowledge and bedside manner - all of which I experienced over an extensive recovery period at Pindara Private Hospital.
If you’re looking for a recommendation of the highest order, then look no further. He saved my life, for which I am forever grateful.

I had surgery to remove my gallbladder by Dr Rutherford a few weeks ago. Everything went so well and Dr Rutherford was lovely. Both he and the anaesthetist, Dr Richard McLean were fantastic and I recovered very quickly with no complications.

Consulted Dr Rutherford in regards to Lipoma removal on my back that was causing me concern. Had it removed by him yesterday ar Gold Coast Private Hospital.
I am very happy with the entire experience, he was easy to talk to - listened to my concerns and talked me through everything & the procedure was done quickly & I'm now home recovering with next to zero pain.
Would highly recommend.

Recently underwent major surgery performed by Dr Leigh Rutherford. It would be stating the obvious that I was apprehensive about the operation. Given the degree of difficulty, his manerism, skill and his openness in responding to any of my concerns is highly appreciated. My wife had her gall bladder out. Excellent doctor, excellent Bedside manor. Very easy to talk to.

My Nan is currently a patient of Dr Rutherford and
from what I have heard he's a great surgeon but fails when it comes to after care.
She has now had 2 collapses and 3 surgeries which has now left her on a liquid diet for life…. And all because of a cough after a hernia surgery was overlooked.

If only he was just as quick to look after his patients after care needs as he was when collecting their credit card details.

Wouldn't even give one star. Went I see the Dr waited over an hour for my appointment. He took others in that turned up after me. When it was finally my turn told me he couldn't access my images and I had to come back! What a joke. I was in there 5 minutes refused to answer any questions. Unprofessional l, stay clear.
