Palm Bay Resort

What a stunning island and a stunning resort. We went over for a day trip and wow what a wonderful day we had! The staff treated us so beautifully, Mercedes the Manager even taking time to show us some rooms as we were talking about coming back for a few nights in the future. The food was amazing, the drinks superb, the atmosphere was beautiful & relaxing. We took a walk along some of the tracks and saw so much wildlife including wallabies, cheeky cockatoos and an enormous blue tongue lizard who we later found out is a bit of celebrity on the island. We lazed by the pool, took advantage of the spa and I had the most wonderful Thai massage and my friend a beautiful relaxing facial, the therapist Elise (sorry if my spelling is wrong) was very experienced and very personable. The Beach bar that opened at 4:30pm was a gorgeous place to sit and have a few drinks before we had to sadly get back on the boat back to the mainland. We will be back!!!!

Wanted to show my appreciation to Palm Bay Resort and the wonderful staff for their hospitality over the 4 nights my partner and I stayed here. We were upgraded and provided bubblies on arrival to celebrate our recent engagement. A very thoughtful gesture that added to an already memorable stay.

The resort and location itself is nothing short of spectacular and represents the Whitsundays at its best. Room and amenities thoughtfully appointed. Kayaks and paddle boards free for hire and plenty of loungers along the beach and pool for use. The restaurant while slightly pricy was excellent and speaks to the calibre of the kitchen staff. We might bring a few more snacks and frozen meals in the future to keep the overall trip more reasonably priced as dining out every meal will add up.

Transfer to and from the mainland was seamless. This is a hidden gem that we will sure return to again and again.

Beautiful location, No stress. From the moment you get on the boat and your luggage is taken care of to the moment you arrive at your room there is no stress. Beautiful views with no noise, work at your own pace. Amazing staff couldn't do enough to help. Take a hike to Happy Bay and see the old club croc and beautful beach. The food is of a high standard, Special mention to the Crab & Prawn Linguini which was simply amazing. Beautiful cocktails as the sunsets at the Sunset Bar between 4:30 and 6:30. I can't recommend this enough to couples looking for an intimate quiet getaway without the stress of having to be anywhere. Thanks Palm Bay resort.

My mum and I went to stay here unsure of what to expect. It was everything would could have wanted. We stayed in a simple bungalow and it was all we needed for our three night stay.
The staff were lovely and food and cocktails great. There is a couple short walking tracks in the island you can explore, free snorkelling and kayak use. The island itself is so beautiful. We were there in March and they had lots of stringer suits available for use too keep those nasty jellyfish off at that time of year.

My partner and I spent 6 days here and we could not recommend this place more. The waiting staff were always so friendly, well mannered and keen to have a conversation and provide their recommendations whether it be local scenes, food or cocktails. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was always on point and couldn't be faulted either. We had such a wonderful stay, thank you to Chase and the whole team for making our stay such a fun and memorable experience!

Our beach bungalow on the water was spacious with an amazing view of Palm Bay. We spent our days relaxing by the pool, kayaking, bushwalking, exploring the surrounding bays and enjoying the sunset cocktail bar in the afternoon. All the staff have been so friendly and helpful, and food is amazing! We have had the best time.

My partner and I spent 6 nights in Palm Bay in Feb 2024, and it was more than we could ask for. We were looking to unplug from work and relax in an unpretentious, quiet place. We certainly found that at the Palm Bay Resort.

We had a cute, clean beach bungalow (#17) that had an amazing view of the Bay and surrounding area. The kitchenette was a nice, pleasant surprise, and the room was more spacious than we imagined. We loved the private deck that looked over the bay, and the glorious views of the sunsets.

There is no WiFi on the island, nor are there TVs, and we truly loved that about this resort. If you're looking for something high-tech and modern, this resort may not be for you. However, it was everything that we needed... and more.

We kept ourselves busy by exploring the island via one of their many hiking trails (which contains the Molle Islands National Park). We loved exploring Happy Bay and seeing the abundant sea life. We also used the Palm Bay Resorts free paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkeling gear daily. However, grabbing a book (or board game) from the free library and hanging by the gorgeous saltwater pool or in the hammock on our bungalow deck was possibly a favorite of ours. We promised ourselves we would use the tennis courts, hit the gym, or book one of their spa treatments, but we were just enjoying ourselves so much with all the other amenities.

All thanks to the wonderful staff, we also booked a daytime snorkeling, rafting, beach adventure that was simply amazing. They can help book a ton of different adventures across the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, depending on your desires.

The food was better than expected, and the portions are HUGE. Both bars were very well stocked and we often enjoyed happy hour at the sunset bar overlooking the bay.

The highlight of the entire trip was the staff. Kate and her team were ALL amazing- friendly, helpful, and certainly knowledgeable. Special Shoutouts to the following- If you want an amazing drink- see Jordan (Jordie); if you want the nicest service ever- ask for Juan; if you want a laugh or a smile- look for Tommy; and if you have any questions about anything- talk to Jaime. They helped make our trip so special, and we can't thank them enough.

Overall, it was an unforgettable trip and we highly recommend it for anyone who needs an escape!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. We had a beachfront villa. Couldn't fault the food or service. Rooms were a little outdated but provided everything you needed. The views made up for it though 👌👌. Will be back for sure.

We spent two wonderful nights with the staff at Palm Bay. The accommodations were excellent and the food and staff were out of this world! It was a very restful time for my group, and and the options for activities were a lot of fun!

The management was so helpful and accommodating as we dealt with the impacts of the cyclone that held up our arrival. They went out of their way to have a room saved for us in Arlie Beach while we were traveling to the area as the water shuttles were shut down due to the weather.

I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a place to relax and to be taken care of!

Friendly staff and comfy accommodation. Bed was comfortable and room was very large. Could sometimes hear guests in next villa. Walk off the balcony onto the beach. Great resort for over 18's. Spent 3 nights in mid Dec. Although the water in the ocean was murky you could still see some wildlife in the ocean including turtles. The restaurant was great and didn't have a bad meal. The hikes were fun and good so see some of the island. The pool is very chlorinated but probably necessary. Stinger suits are readily available and so are flippers and snorkel sets, single kayaks available and one double, two stand up paddleboards. Shame the tennis court was unavailable. All the other guests were like minded and seemed to be enjoying the resort. Disclaimer* don't come here if you are afraid of birds. The cockatoos are very nosy and don't understand personal space. The sunset bar is a little cheaper than the main bar and nice to sit on the beach of an afternoon. Chase stood out as the friendliest, most accommodating staff member if I owned a business, I'd want him as the manager. Tommy was also great!

Had a lovely 5 night stay here! Staff were so amazing and friendly, all of them happy to chat and get to know you which was definitely a highlight of our stay here. Food was very good, only two dishes that we weren’t super impressed with but other than that we can’t complain! Rooms could’ve used a little maintenance here and there but it still felt clean and comfortable which is what is important. Such an incredible location with beautiful views, atmosphere, and staff, would definitely recommend!

We had an exceptional stay, which we booked last minute, and I've been enthusiastically recommending it since. What stands out is its adult only boutique ambiance combined with affordability - which is rare in Australia. It's like stepping onto your own secluded island. The staff are dedicated without being overbearing, ensuring guests are content while maintaining excellent standards. The food + wine were outstanding - I suggest trying the steak and market fish, which are delicious and again, surprisingly well-priced. Palm Bay does has a romantic vibe, ideal for couples but it was equally enjoyable for us as two friends wrapping up a roadtrip. The only tweaks I'd suggest are stronger frozen cocktails and a freshwater outdoor shower by the pool. Also note that it's stinger season in the summer months so the suits are nessesary for beach swimming. Overall, a solid 5/5 experience :) thanks guys!

My partner and I just returned from 5 days, 4 nights at Palm Bay Resort. We had the most amazing time. We were welcomed by Kate and her team, a generous welcome drink waiting for us and an easy check-in. Our room was clean, with everything you needed for a short stay. The view was incredible, whether it be first thing in the morning or the sunset at night. You are very secluded on the island, able to do your own thing (kayak, paddle board, swim, spa, gym, walk). The staff was very kind, welcoming and professional, making sure we had everything we needed. We loved our meals, from the fish of the day to the pork belly. Delicious! We were so sad to leave and recommend this spot to anyone looking for a local Australian oasis. Thank you Kate & team :)

Great location with amazing staff - super helpful and friendly. Spacious rooms with amazing views. The restaurant, though, is lacking - being the only option in the island they should really improve (by having better and more offer (e.g. having more fish and meat options or having some “crowd favorite” good plates such as good pizzas or pastas)

What an amazing resort , wonderful staff and excellent facilities. I played here at a wedding on the weekend and was blown away with the event manager Kate and all her staff on the resort. They were super helpful and very friendly. Having worked and recruiters in hospo years myself it's hard to get good staff ATM and Palm Bay have nailed it! The rooms were awesome on the beach and nice and big and the pool is awesome. The food and drinks were delish too and their private beach is stunning. Also the team were quick and efficient to transfer luggage to and from boats. I actually had my music equipment taken over to the main land on an earlier boat before I went to leave which was amazing as it was a fair bit of stuff.Can't wait to come back one day! Thanks

Really great place to stay if you want somewhere secluded and quiet! No party vibes (in fact we saw the staff kick out some partiers who moored and came in to drink/play music on the beach - thank you!!!!), no crowds, in the middle of a national park.

We loved observing the native wildlife - all the birds and wallabies in the resort, and bats, butterflies and lizards on our hike. Had a great snorkel and kayak on calm days, and enjoyed the breeze on windy days! And the gardens are lovely just to relax in.

Food served at the restaurant is delicious and generous in size, though I could have done with more vegetarian options.

The resort is clearly well-loved - there were a few little things like chipped pool tiles, ancient over-heating bar fridge and such, but it made me feel more at home than I would have somewhere super posh and polished! Staff very down to earth and friendly too.

Good value rates but factor in transfer/charter/ferry costs when planning your holiday - if you fly into Hamilton Island, you have to pay $800 return on the water taxi.

Fantastic beach resort, rooms are basic but very comfortable. Dining area large, airy and well laid out. Service was fantastic although a limited menu food was well present and really tasty. Pool area is fantastic and no kids !!! The site has a small Spa building with an adjacent gym (small). Overall Kate and her team will do anything to make the trip more enjoyable.

The food and cocktails were on point as well as attention to detail. The sunset bar is a must as you watch the sun go down. The beach front bungalows are just beautiful and the hammocks great.

Thanks to Katie, Abby, Ramiro, Pablo, Juan, James, Adam, the kitchen chef ( that catered all the beautiful food to suit my food restrictions, I'm coeliac) and all the other staff that we did not met but also made our stay just perfect.
The rooms are outstanding, with the best views ever. Plenty to do or just relax by the pool, hammock or in your bed listening to waves.
I'm hyperactive so you wonder what to in a island: well, I ran all the trails, I went to the gym (witch by the way is not mentioned on the website and is great) paddle board for hours in a protected bay watching the turtles and whales, swam all around. I loved!
After a great day we would go to the restaurant and wonder if the number of days we spent there would be enough to try all dishes because they were sooo good.
Katie is doing a great job managing the resort and the Argentinian boys and everyone else make you fell at easy and welcome.
By the end I hugged everyone like they were my friends, but that's me, if your thing is stay quiet and relax you also on the right spot.

The most amazing beach front villa I have ever seen. Staff were very accommodating, meals are reasonably priced and exceeded expectations. Caught a fish off the beach in front of our villa which the chef, Ricard, was genuinely excited to prepare for us. Will definitely be going back.
