Scamper - Whitsunday Island Camping Connections

I think this is the way to make sure you experience the islands. It’s a touch expensive, but after that initial payment everything is incredibly reasonable.

They provided us with all the additional gear we needed like bins, and a cooler and they only charged us the ice cost to bring out an extra cooler with ice the following days. Unreal.

They drastically undersold how good the snorkeling would be both at Whitehaven and Crayfish and made sure we were prepped with bug spray for the newly born biting flies (which was needed).

I can’t recommend this upfront, family run business more.

Scamper is an incredible service - if you are interested in camping in the whitsundays, you’re in good hands with this crew!

They make the entire experience very smooth and manageable. The ability to rent the camping gear from them directly (everything you would need from tent/sleeping pads to cooking tools to snorkel gear) takes so much of the hassle out of the process. The staff is also awesome - the check in process was super smooth and our boat captain Nathan is the man! He gave us great recommendations specific to our campsite. We had an unforgettable couple nights in a truly beautiful and wild place. Thank you Scamper crew!

We did 2 nights camping in 2 islands with scamper. Camping equipments were quite nice, nothing to complain about.
The boat from Southmole to Whitsundays was really bumpy which I struggled with a little.
But otherwise it was fine.
I had an issue with my flight because of the ferry transferrs but they kindly refunded my ferry ticket fee.
It was my first camping experience and I really liked it.
Southmole island and Whitsunday island beach were so beautiful, have suprisingly nice night views as well.

We were very impressed with the service we received with Scamper. Tim and Sarah are both very professional and can't help you enough. We spent two nights camping at Naris Beach on Whitsunday Island and had our campsite to ourselves. We brought our kayaks and enjoyed exploring the nearby bays and walking trails. Can't recommend them enough. Very happy and would love to go out again and explore some other areas.

We went to the Whitesundays with Scamper. I have to say that it was a bumpy road, but we had a lot of fun. After that we spent 2 beautiful nights on the island. We rent the tents and everything we needed from scamper and we didn't have any problems.

A wonderful trip thanks to these guys! We stayed in a couple of bougiee hotels on Airlie beach but nothing beats camping on a beautiful island. They supplied all camping gear, we just bought the groceries and made better food than we were served in Airlie, we ordered more beers on the island and they bought it to us the next day! Lovely couple, happy to support their business. Highly recommend.

We had such a positive experience with Scamper. Our boat driver, Tim, was so friendly and welcoming as well as the other lady who organised all our stuff. We took our own tents and stayed on South Molle which had just one other set of campers on it. A brilliant experience.

We caught Scamper over to Crayfish Bay on Hook Island for my 30th birthday camping trip. The whole trip was so fun and wholesome from start to finish, the location was stunning and we almost had the whole campsite all to ourselves! We took two kayaks with us to kayak from our campsite to snorkel spots in the bay and I'm so glad we did. Definitely recommend taking a trip out with scamper!

We had a very pleasant experience with Scamper and with Tim and Sarah. Great tips for each camping spot and pick up times were accurate. We had all our own gear so can’t comment of hiring equipment. But they do provide 5L per person, per day - a great bonus when we did quite a long trip with multiple islands.

Can't recommend using Scamper to access and enjoy the Whitsundays highly enough.
Their knowledge, advice, service and systems are amazing.
Book and go see several camps around the Whitsunday National Park. Hire a kayak from next door at Salty Dog. Or borrow a Goanna/bird proof box from Scamper and go enjoy it!

We have used Scamper to camp the Whitsundays a number of times now, such a great service! They’re well organised, friendly and always have great advice on the area. Highly recommended! Look forward to seeing you guys again.

Wonderful trip. Definitely the best way to see the islands, much better than a day tour if one has time. Went to Whitehaven beach, and stayed 3 fantastic nights. Gear provided by Scamper worked perfectly. Great instructions from the crew. Pick up and drop off went exactly as planned. Campsites were nice and clean.

Saw the reef with many mini bommies off the beach which was beautiful. Saw lots of pretty big stingrays on the ocean floor. Lots of baby giant clams. Even saw a 10-15 cm long, deadly but very beautiful orange cone snail, lots of barracuda etc.

At night could watch the guitarfish hunt along the shore with the incoming waves.

Walked all the way to the beautiful hill inlet. Went to Chance bay even which was another beautiful beach. Did the lookouts close to the campsite.

Had a really fantastic experience camping on Whitehaven beach for 3 nights. The team were very helpful and professional. Worth checking the equipment list before loading on as we had to borrow some gear! Highly recommend this unique get away.

By far the best company we have stumbled across in a long time! We traveled with these guys back in May and could not have been happier with our overall experience with them. Sarah was so helpful when booking, as we didn't know we could do multi-stops, and she even recommended where we should go based on our interests! On the day, they gave us even more infomation on what we could do, and even did an additional water drop for us while we were out camping (we camped for 5 nights; 2 on South Molle and 3 on Whitehaven Beach). The best way to experience the Whitsundays by far, they offer an unparelled services and you should not think twice about booking your trip. Super affordable as well which was a massive bonus.

Me and my family just finished an incredible weeklong paddle using Scamper to help with transfers. The weather required us to change plans and they easily accommodated that. They offer a great service with expert advice. We also rented mask snorkeling sets which were all great condition. Thanks team we all can’t wait to return!

We camped at Whitehaven beach for 2 nights in November. The Scamper crew were amazing and super friendly, they were easy to communicate with prior and answered any of our questions via FB messenger and gave us clear instructions the day before. There is plenty of storage space on board the boat to bring all your gear over or you can hire from them. Highly recommend!

Thanks Sandy and crew for a great trip! This was my third time using the Scamper and I am so grateful for this service. Such a patient and hardworking crew, they always seem to work to ensure everyone has a good trip. It is so convenient to be able to rent gear from them too. I continue to find the price is very reasonable, considering the value of having days to laze on the beach, sometimes having the whole place to yourself! This is definitely one of the best ways to see the Whitsundays and I will be back again for sure! My tips: hire a snorkel and fins, check out salty dog to hire a kayak and hire a wetsuit from aqua dive in Airlie in the cooler months (we definitely appreciated ours!).

Sarah was absolutely fantastic! Customer service was exemplary. I have never been to Hamilton Island and I was constantly pestering Sarah via text and she was so lovely and answered all my questions. I camped at South Mole and had the island to myself 😁, hired stove, sleeping mat, esky, stinger suit. It is so convenient if you want to fly over and just hire the gear from them and get food from the supermarket and off you go on your island adventure. The price is so affordable and I'm so glad that I found them, i had a once in a lifetime solo island camp experience. Everything was perfect 🏝🏕🙏😁
