The old nursery is on the way to The Bluff lookout.
There is a loop walk along a creek, stabilised ruins and lawn, mature introduced trees as in a botanic park.
Quite a relaxed and pleasant place.

A relic from the pioneering forestry industry, basically a trial plantation of forestry trees from around the world, to find the best trees to replace the native sugar gums which were being felled for fence posts quicker than they could be replaced. A top spot in the heat of summer, with the shade and elevation combining to produce temperatures around ten degrees cooler than anywhere else. A highlight is the giant redwood and cork tree- maybe 160 years old.

A fantastic place for a quiet walk amongst the trees. On the one side there were a bunch of different birds, then the other wonderfully clover covered ground with the white popular leaves over the path.

A very tranquil and pretty location within the Wirrabara forest. Just by the Heysen Trail, it makes a great, relaxing location to have a picnic, or to set up a blanket and just enjoy the the scenery. Only a couple of kilometers past the main picnic area.
