Town small and nothing to do, cafe near the jetty staff rude and abrupt, public toilets nearby, and under cover areas to sit and eat, the walk along the jetty long but peaceful and relaxing, well worth a visit to this 140 year old piece of South Australian history

We travelled far to come and see this jetty. The length of it is 1.5 km. We enjoyed the walk to the end, it looked like so much fun for kids playing in the sandy water as the tide was so low. Just across the road is Port Germein caravan park which is an excellent spot to camp if staying here. Was interesting reading all the history on Port Germein and its famous jetty. Watched the fishermen at the end for awhile. Worth the travel.

Update: back again in winter and enjoyed walking this jetty again. Was the perfect day!

A great walk to the end and back. Now a bit shorter as the end has a few problems. So only 1.6 km each way. The tide was slowly coming in along the some kilometre sandy beach. No wonder it's 1.7km long.

Simple amazing place. So called the longest timber jetty in Australia. Not sure if this is true. But between the super long jetty and the longest ride ever. So worth a visit. One must be mindful of the wind

Well known and must drop by at Port Germein and it's famous longest jetty in SA. We are lucky to capture beautiful pictures of the sun, cloud and sea. The reflection of the cloud and the far horizon were breath taking.

This is one long arse jetty ..one and a half kilometres long ..it's wooden the very end section has been closed to the public due to age and probably lack of funds to fix it..the tide goes way out that's why the jetty goes so far..it's probably the only cool thing in the town there's a pub a post office cop shop general store..that l seen .. Close to telowie gorge and beach ..some nice camps and natural attractions if you seek...
5 stars coz it's the longest jetty l know of

Great place to recharge on the trip north or south. Still an unspoilt part of the coast line. The Jetty walk is long so take some water. Some beautiful art work and historical pieces at the start of the jetty. Check out the local markets. Unfortunately I wasn't there on the day. Great park and playground for a picnic lunch. I'll be stopping off whenever I go through from now on.

Unexpected good jetty. This one is the longest wooden jetty in Australia (about 1.5 km long). You can go for a swim or just hang around to enjoy the view. Fishing is possible as well. There is a huge parking spot and a public toilet/shower nearby.
If you are nearby, don't miss the chance to see this one. It's worth to drive into the town!

Nice seaside town, although unless you visit around high tide it's a bit of a walk down to the water. The jetty walk is a must, but be prepared because the current jetty length is 1.3 kilometres. Lots of good fishing and blue swimmer crabs out at the end of the jetty. There is a free bbq area and seating, and there is also a huge timber and iron shed that you can picnic under. Across the road from the bbq area is a large, well kept playground for the kids, and there is also a well maintained toilet block.

Lovely walk to the end and back. Water was crystal clear and looked very inviting despite the season.
Will be back in summer for a swim!

The jetty was closed due to adverse weather however you can still be amazed by how long and massive the place is. Would definitely go back...
