Last minute booking, was so surprised. Great location, beautiful view and serene setting. Very clean and tidy would definitely stay again if in the area. Close to the local pub for a greet meal.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation in a perfect location. We weren't so lucky with the weather but honestly it added to the charm. Clean, bright and everything you need to feel at home and relaxed. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful cottage in a sleepy coastal town - great for a relaxing weekend getaway. Close enough to Port Arthur and the Tesselated Pavement. Facilities are all new and very comfortable. The view from bed is stunning, what a way to wake up! We really enjoyed our stay ☺

I would have easily thought the rooms are 4-5 stars, so beautiful, 'Afloat' has the best private ocean view, which was perfect for our honeymoon 🥂 definitely recommend.

Perfect location and accommodation....clean and tidy and lots of knick-knacks throughout the property....we watched an echidna walk past whilst enjoying the serenity.

Great spot for the tourist

Flotsam is a picturesque location and presents well in photos and reviews.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay however, I'd except for paying $200+ a night to have accommodation that's carefully cleaned/ maintained. Upon arrival there were chips scattered at the front entrance, dead moths through the bathroom, debris scattered around the floor and even a cork / champagne bottle foil left on the lounge area. We had expressed our concern on airbnb with no reply or response after 4 weeks so find it adequate to post this for anyone considering staying here.

P.S as previous reviews state the accommodation is very close to a main highway with vehicles travelling close and fast resulting in some disturbance to the serenity of the beach side get away.

This place regularly comes up as a review for me. As a local resident I have no reason to have a stay there. However I have some helpful facts.
The original building was burnt down in the 2013 bush fires.
It was a timber construction. Apart from accommodation they sold artwork too.
New buildings have now been completed. They are made of colour bond corrugated iron.
They have a lovely view over Carlyle Beach (aka Dunalley beach).
The buildings are very close to the Arthur Highway. This is the only road to the Port Arthur historic site. It is a good base to use for a night or two while exploring the Tasman and Forestere Peninsulas.
