I have been going here on a regular basis since Jan18, for Macular Eye treatment. The Team in Professor Paul Mitchell's Staff are very reliable, efficient & attentive, & work long hours. Proff Paul Mitchell is world renowed & respected & he & his team are dedicated to the welfare of people who would otherwise possibly not have access to this quite costly eye treatment if one had to see a private Specialist. Waiting time can be quite long depending on whether or not you have to have various procedural tests on the day or not, or whether you are just there for the eye injection for Macular. The waiting room can be quite crowded no matter what time of the day (except under the current CVD19) & patience is the key. Headset for MUSIC on your phone helps, as if you have EYEDROPS for testing you will NOT be able to READ a book or magazine, & may have difficulties reading YOUR PHONE, which I like to TURN TO SILENT as soon as I get there, as I would not like it to loudly ring just as I am having an eye injection. Frightening as that may sound, to have an eye injection, it is actually quite a quick pain free procedure. However I sometimes need to take it easy on my eyes for a day or so, wearing sunglasses to watch TV for a couple of hours, or wear a sleeping mask for a short time. It varies. Initially I kept a good supply of tissues & any recommended eye drops handy when I returned home. I also take regular Macular support vitamins recommended to me by the clinic.
Very close to Westmead station about 3 mts WALK. BUS ROUTES are also close, as is Westmead Hospital. The rooms are on Floor 2 & the lift is small. At 30Nov22 the Lift has been totally modernised, though not large, but will fit a wheelchair, or a Mobility Scooter at a pinch. TOILETS are on Floor 1, incl Disabled, as well as some seating. At this time 2023 the roadworks re the new tram line being built are being completed so both pedestrian & vehicle traffic can be congested. Parking is limited. There is a restricted selection of FOOD areas NEARBY if you need to get a late lunch afterwards, or go straight to the FOOD HALL in WESTMEAD HOSPITAL on the Ground level, which I dont prefer.
It helps in Summer Sun glare to have your SUNGLASSES & also a SUN HAT for when you leave as the INJECTION effects can vary each time re GLARE. Some people need to have a companion with them or to pick them up to take them home, & DRIVING yourself home may not be a good idea. I hope this helps.

Whilst parking here is hard, and there's a chance to bump your head on the way in, my experience here to see an eye specialist was very good.

It is 2 levels and there is no lift .. no parking. The big problem that ..This building full of clinics and all the visitors are patients. So is it logic that there is no lift or parking? Stupidity at it's best.
