anchored here for lunch one day, as wanted to climb whitsunday peak. it's a muddy bottom so water is a bit murky, so no where near as beautiful water as most places on the whitsunday group. would be sheltered in a noreaster or easterly, but not from a northerly or southerly it's not as sheltered as it might seem. so i don't think so good for a small craft anchor. there is a camping spot, several sites, but u need to book with national parks and i saw them checking , so expect a visit. would be a great spot if u wanted to camp in the camp ground a few days, although again the beach is not the nicest. most people of course though are sleeping in their boat and this is not the best place to anchor. to shallow for bigger boats, exposed for smaller boats. if u wanna hike the peak u need to get there early, it's about a 4 hour return and u would not want to get stuck on the track in the dark. be prepared with hiking shoes water and snacks this is not an easy hike. but well worth it if u keen :)
