The Rare Pear

After my Saturday morning massage in Holland Park, I decided to treat myself to brunch. I was keen to try this place, so I waited a while to be seated at the only clean table outside, a clear sign they'd had a busy morning. The very casual setup doesn't quite prepare one for the sensational food I was served. I enjoyed an almond latte with hazelnut syrup and a veggie big breakfast. They'd just cooked a fresh batch of crispy-on-the-outside, soft-and-fluffy-on-the-inside corn puffs and apologised for it taking a bit longer. You know it's good when all you can think about is the next mouthful. These babies soaked up the poached eggs and homemade chutney perfectly. It was worth waiting. The service was very friendly, and I'll definitely be back to try the meat lovers' dishes next.

Really lovely place, fantastic coffee - my partner said the Mocha he had was the best he’s ever had. Lots of gluten free options for food and desserts, and really tasty as well. Came back for a second time on Mother’s Day and it was great again, highly recommend. Also really reasonably priced!

This might become your low-key but surprisingly very lovely brunch-favourite of this residential area. The outdoor sitting is nicely confined within a wooden fence-structure that embrace the perimeter in order to make you feel you are not just right there on the side of a main road. The staff is just effortlessly good-nature and genuine, attentive and with that light-to-touch professionalism allowing an atmosphere free of any pressure.
The menu is just wonderful, with generous portion size and flavours are dazzling in your mouth.
The interior design embraces a soft country style, adding an extra pound to the already well established relaxing vibe.

Walked into this little comfy cafe and ordered a big brekky , egg Benny for me and my wife, and a chicken avocado sandwich for the kids 🤤, all dishes are awesome, the porch eggs are beautiful! What a surprising little gem we discovered this public holiday. Can't wait to come back again 😁 Love it!!

I like this cafe very much; that's why I come back everyday during my short stay at Brisbane.
Their veggie big brekkie is a highlight! It is surprisingly delicious, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Their cappacino is silky and creamy, and I just love it.I also tried berry chia, very refreshing :)
Not to mention their salads, very fresh and light. I wish I could stay longer and try the rest of the dishes from the menu.

The Cafe is situated in a love spot over looking a busy road, the layout is small, perfect for meeting with a friend for a coffee.
The drinks are always hot or icy cold, depending what you ordered.
The staff are fantastic and remember most regulars.
And my photos would suggest that I always order the French Toast because it is absolutely delicious!

Delicious tasty food with good service and very good prices. Parking is easy behind the restaurant. Coffee is smooth and they were able to accommodate us for breakfast even when we turned up close to closing time. Friendly staff who got the orders right. My mushroom breakfast was divine in the Truffle oil. Will certainly go back. Very handy only 5 minutes from home!

Good selection of popular cafe meals, and great service. Their iced mocha was really good too.

Delicious! Great little breakfast joint with a great menu of more than your average bacon and eggs. The price is a bit up there but you do get a great looking and great tasting meal.

After six years, the coffee remains fantastic but I can’t decide whether my favourite meal is the French toast or the K burger!
Either way, the staff are lovely and we always walk away extremely happy we visited The Rare Pear!

Delightful breakfast experience on a very busy Saturday morning. Fabulous service, modern edgy menu, great coffee and table reservations. A rare pear indeed!

Big meals having breakfast here lets you skip lunch, great coffee. Staff are very committed in ensuring your looked after. Good value for money.

We showed up during peak morning and they were still very accommodating. We had a large group of us and they brought all our food out together. Food and coffee were both great and the prices were quite reasonable. Would highly recommend. I’ll be going again when next in the area.

a family owned and run business, the rare pear is a little gem in holland park. excellent coffee made from sustainable and ethical practice is served, pastries are all homemade and we had just about everything on the lunch menu including smoothies - they were all delicious!

Heard about this place awhile again didn't realise where it was until I literally stumbled upon it while going to the post office next door. Great food and excellent service. Very accommodating to my little girl with kid size plate.

AMAZING FOOD. We had a veggie brekkie and a vegetable salad. It was honestly perfect. Good size, great taste and fair price. Great natural juice options as well, which is a bonus. The waitress was super friendly and it's a dog friendly venue. Basically, a 10/10 experience. Super recommend it!
