I had a blood test here and I can't remember the ladies name sadly but she was absolutely amazing! She really cared about making sure she got the best vein possible by checking both arms, and she kept asking questions making sure I was okay throughout the whole process! We had amazing chats about how she studied at the mater! Overall was an amazing experience and honestly was the best blood test I've ever gotten! Would absolutely give her more then 5 stars if I could!

The best service and assistance from Bernadette (Coomera Westfield) and Leanne (Mater Adult Hospital). Both ladies went above and beyond to help me sort out my blood tests which were a little bit complicated for me to get due to the timing each test needed to be received at the labs for testing.

Went last week for a blood test. On arrival was told they were almost closing due to staff shortage in another area. I then was asked "did i fast for the test?"
I said "No, my doctor didn't mention it"
I was then told "As I didn't fast the blood test would need to be another day."

When I got home, I looked at the blood test request. It never stated I needed to fast! I asked my doctor, who said "I didn't need to fast" So how does Pathology know better than the doctor? Clearly the Pathologist didn't want to do it...

Their fee for item number 73938 is $66.80. Medicare suggests it should be $7.95.

My advice is, do not agree to a test unless the full cost and requirement has been explained.
Their other charges are all very reasonable, so why this one is so high is a mystery to me. This is 9 times the MBS system fee.

Note my rating is purely based on their charging model and in no way reflects on their excellent care.

The staff were nice but they weren't very good at taking blood.
These are photos from day 1, 2 and day 10. I was half way thru my blood test and they had to switch arms because they couldnt get a large enough sample. I was told I would only have slight bruising.
I'm also not sure why they didnt do the test at the centre of my arm?

One star is too high for the lady I just spoke to, so rude! I asked to book in for a test and she told me she isn't pathology, just customer service in a very condescending tone. Then proceeded to tell me 3 centres offer the test I'm looking to book and gave me a phone number, to which I asked her which centre that was for and her reply was "mhmm". Mater really needs to re-evaluate their staff in the sector. Why be in customer service if you are absolutely garbage at talking to customers and obviously hate your job?

I have never had a company that has been so rude about a having small payment that was just overdue. They continued to ring me twice a day and being at work I am unable to answer my phone, therefore because I didn’t answer the phone calls they have then forwarded my Information onto a debt collector of outstanding amount of $30. I was amazed and surprised. Is this company struggling this much that they have to put on debt collectors for small
Amounts I don’t think the $30 would even cover the debt collectors wage for doing the job. As I work in the medical industry I will not be using or recommending Mater Pathology. They have certainly lost my business.

Made an appointment for a test at Mayer's insistence and when we arrived they simply told us to wait our turn. Appointments work both ways otherwise why bother. Completely incompetent and rude.

Was told to sit and wait for my blood test that could only be taken 8-9am. Waited since 8.15, not even a confirmation of how long is left before my test 😭 i was knocking and knocking but no response. Seriously the most stressful blood test experience ever.

Have to agree the phone staff are rude. They are trying to help, but should be more sensitive to the reality that people who ring up are chasing health results and are probably very scared and worried. A little empathy would go a long way.

Had to get a pre-employment covid test for work. Was booted around brisbane on a wild goose chase, sent between hospital sections for about 3 hours before being told to 'just come back tommorrow'. Very frustrated.
