Had Carpel tunnel syndrome in both hand.
Contacted Dr Macquire and organised surgery
A 6mm Nick on my wrists that's all it was. Recovery is very easy.
4 months since surgery and both hands are back to normal.
Dr Macguire and his team are very professional and well organised.
I was concerned that my hands would never be the same.
Also as it's out of hospital day surgery you can claim a lot back on Medicare if your entitled.

Dr Maguire is truly the very best in Australia for carpal tunnel surgery, I was booked in with an other surgeon who wanted to operate the old fashion way by cutting through all the tissue in my hand which would have been very slow to heal and would have left a big scar on my hand. I did some research of the least invasive and newest type surgery available, and I made an appointment with Dr Maguire, I liked him straight away, even had a few laughs, booked in the week after and had the surgery done. It was amazing, my hand recovered very fast, before the surgery I could not type more than a few minutes before my hand became extremely numb to the point I could not use it. Within a week my hand was back to normal and was able to type all day if I wanted to, plus at night whilst sleeping my hand doesn't fall asleep or go numb anymore, all back to normal now with a good nights sleep. After you take the bandages off, all you see is a very tiny scar on the wrist. Went back for second nerve conducting test, before surgery my nerve compression was around 6.2, second test was 3.9. My right hand is back to normal.

Nurse Nerilee and Dr Maguire, as well as all the staff at Maguire Upper Limb, could not have been more helpful in organising surgery for my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I had the new ultrasound-guided procedure on a Friday and it was wonderful! I was able to get both hands done at the same time with tiny little incisions that did not even require a stitch, and despite having severe CTS prior to surgery, had very little pain after the procedure, and was able to drive confidently by Monday. Only ten days later my hands, neck and shoulders already have much better range of motion and dexterity than before, and are almost back to normal (some strength and sensation will take time to develop as expected). Highly recommend!

I had a carpal tunnel release with Dr Maguire.
When i arrived i had extreme pain in my RHS palm and thumb. I was unable to make a fist and my arm was locked. My only mobility was in my fingers. The pain in my thumb and palm was like a fracture. I was on panadein forte and nurefen 400mg just to get thru it.
Dr Maguire was able to diagnose the issue with checks up and a cortisone shot into the carpal tunnel ligament. This occurred over 2 appointments 1 day apart. He took care in getting me in right away and diagnosing the issue also offering relief with the shot.
The team had me back in just over a fortnight later for the release.
Its been 5 days since my surgery and i just went on an advanced high rope course where i was hanging from both hands for 2 hours. (Dr Maguire will probably not be happy with that.lol) My wife and i cant believe it!

I went to Dr Michael Maguire after seeing a Neurosurgeon and a Neurologist who confirmed I had severe carpal tunnel in both hands. After discovering the Ultra Sound Guided Carpal Tunnel Technique I new I wanted to have this so I could have less downtime from work. Dr Maguire was excellent and his team went above and beyond to get me in ASAP at his new clinic, we were travelling all the way from Hervey Bay to the Gold Coast so we did alot of consulting over the phone prior to Surgery. We scheduled surgery for a Wednesday on one hand and the day after for the next, it was honestly incredible as I had the bandages removed Friday and my hands moving around! I went back to work on the Monday in a job where i use a keyboard and a pen, it was truly amazing. I am now 3 weeks on and am going to return to the gym today, absolutely incredible... I would highly recommend Dr Maguire and his team and I am actually going to use him again for a niggling knee injury he was that good! 100% worth the drive, thanks Dr Maguire and team!

Brilliant all the staff friendly. Dr Maguire corrected a surgery I had in private hospital 29/5 /21. For carpal tunnel, finished the work and removed scar and re stitched the hand. Unlike the first time I walked out straight to late lunch no drugs, just a couple of Panadols the next day.

Told me my injury was just a habit. After 6 months of calls trying to chase up the referral he gave me i finally gave up but listened to my body and went to another hand specialist. 22mm tear in my tendon and ruptured pulley, how did a "specialist" miss this

I saw Dr Maguire and there was no follow up and tried several times to contact to assist me with my condition, it was useless. He or his staff do not respond to phone calls, emails and when you are struggling and require help there is none. No point going to see him as a surgeon as he is over priced and over rated. Still trying to get feedback and follow up, but nothing and now left trying to find someone else to help. Very disappointed in the whole situation and lack of concern.
