Lyall Gillespie Corridor Park
Tom Nicholas Crescent, Forde
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Lyall Gillespie was a noted public servant and local historian” reads the entry sign with more information who the park is named after and facilities available

This waterfront park is nestled in on Zakharov Pond in Forde. It features not only a waterfront BBQ and picnic area but recreational grass space and a water dock for water sports like kayaking (swimming however is not allowed).

Nestled around the gardens are various animal sculptures, such examples are the eastern long neck turtle duo and frog.

The BBQ Area features
• bubbler
• bin
• metal shade shelter
- picnic table underneath
• dual BBQ with both cooktops facing the water - additional tap on BBQ

The BBQ area is fenced as it is placed over the water but is not fully fenced with gaps near the edge, in particular behind the bubbler.

More seating is available across the grass space as the walking circuit with lights continue around the pond.

Forde boasts 5 public BBQ spaces for free use, the 4 others include playgrounds but this one does not.

What a lovely little park. Had no idea it had a BBQ too. Barbecue by the lake. Or warabi ponds, I think it's man made anyway, so, doesn't matter if I get it wrong.
