Active Care Physiotherapy & Sports Therapy

Having fixed up a bad hip with several weeks of Physio 2 years ago I have returned recently keen to get a dodgy back ready to play golf again. I have been working on this and have met my immediate goal of a playing golf again without pain and continue to build up back strength, building confidence to continue to play pain free. Ian takes the time to explain the process clearly so i understand the mechanics which helps me push forward. I have found the pain mind connection fascinating and rewarding to see results.

Had been struggling with chronic back and wrist pain for a good 1.5 - 2 years when I went to see Ian and the team. Ian put me on a targeted exercise program and within 3 months both injuries were resolved and I was able to go back to doing the activities I loved doing. Couldn’t recommend enough, very skilled and passionate about what they do, and it’s a friendly and relaxed environment.

I’ve been having chronic lower back pain since my mid teens, the last 2 years it has been almost debilitating! I got an MRI scan and went to Active Care and received treatment from Byron. Ian Colaco and his tram are fantastic Physiotherapists. I've been going to them for years with various conditions and each time they have done wonders for treating my ailments- knees, ankle, back, neck, arm/shoulder. Expert diagnosis of problem(s) before doing anything- I have every confidence in their medical assessments. Definitely expert treatment, knowledge and advice. They're happy to work with your current medical doctors .I won't go anywhere else.

I have been seeing Ian and his team on and off for many years now with various injuries over that time. The reason I come back is that I have always had professional and caring treatment individualised for my needs. The team is knowledgeable and friendly and work hard to get you going again. I have recently seen Ian for a follow up visit and have been incredibly impressed at his professionalism and approach to my condition. He ties in current research, science, extensive clinical experience and knowledge, as well as using the latest technology to provide an expert program to empower me to manage my condition. He is an excellent communicator. I would highly recommend this practice for physiotherapy needs.

Great practice. Ian has been my physio for over 5 years. Ian is an excellent physio! He has successfully treated me through multiple injuries such a stress fracture in my lower spine. His treatment is methodical and scientifically based. He actively keeps up with the most recent knowledge and techniques in the field. Have recommended him to numerous people.

I have seen a lot of physios in my time. Ian Colaco and the team at Active Care Physio are the best by far. Vulnerable to joint issues, Ian has kept me off the surgeon's table several times. He is abreast of all the latest research and is able to provide very targeted rehab exercises that work where others fail.

My doctor referred me to Active Care to treat a bad sprain of an ankle I'd injured in childhood decades ago. Byron Michalandos took the referral.

Byron assessed the injury and set me a range of muscle-specific exercises. They've worked, and the exercises change as my muscle strength and balance improve.

I'm very impressed with Byron's knowledge and with his careful monitoring of what's working best. I give him the highest rating.

I have never been to a physio, but on recommendation from my doctor I went to Active Care Physio for a frozen shoulder. Rebekah was excellent in treating this condition. A true professional. The improvement has been quite noticeable and most free movement has returned. I still continue with my exercises.

My name is David Wilson, in 2015 I was seriously injured in a work accident.
I sustained a broken leg, broken ribs, damaged neck, a brain injury, I needed a shoulder replacement and I had various other issues.
After being released from hospital my GP recommended that I go to Active care physiotherapy & sports therapy for treatment.
I was put under the care of Steve Laybutt. At first I could barely walk and my right arm was useless. Steve went to work on me and over the next few years got my body working again. At first the treatment was very painful but over time Steve worked through the issues I had and today I have good use of my right arm, I can walk around without any issues.
I’d like to say many thanks to Steve and the Active care team for all the hard work they did to get me back in shape again.

Ian offered me personalised and targeted treatment over a number of months and made my recovery as smooth as possible. Ian and the team at Active Care were crucial in my preparation for an international sporting competition. After being injured in one of the first selection camps, they developed a plan and road map to recovery to help get through the selection camps and ultimately my competition in Europe.
