Fantastic local restaurant! We had fabulous coffee and food envy from the amazing seafood platters enjoyed by other diners. It's a must visit.
Update - came back for lunch and loved the seafood chowder! Grilled scallops looked amazing too. 5 stars all round.

Great location with lovely views of the water. Nice courtyard area that is dog friendly as well as indoor tables set up to be able to look at the view while you eat. We were there for lunch on a Monday afternoon and The service was wonderful with a very friendly server taking our order and delivering our drinks and food with a smile and friendly chatter. Food was delicious. My partner had the seafood grazing platter and I had the scallops - which were gluten free and absolutely beautiful. There were several gluten feee options and all sounded amazing. Will definitely eat here any time we return to the area.

The service and food were excellent! The lobster was delicious, the staff was very good, and the dogs stayed with us and were well served.

Passed by for a coffee one morning while on a road trip and the coffee was soooo good I made a 50km trip the next day for another coffee and to try some lunch. I ordered the seafood platter for one take away (unfortunately too windy for me to sit outside with the pooch), food was fresh and delicious, and the serving huge. I also decided to purchase a takeaway salami and salad for dinner, also delicious. Best salad dressing ive had in a long time! The thing that got my attention the most was the waitress came out from behind the counter to greet me with a genuine welcome and a warm smile. As someone who has to partake in a lot of business coaching, this form of customer service is so rare nowadays and was an absolute standout for me, I'll be back one day!

Absolutely delicious, We come here often and usually get coffee and cake, but seafood for 2 the grazing dish is amazing and filling, the service is also great and friendly atmosphere...

I had the gluten-free chicken burger, and it was absolutely delicious! Prices were good and the service was fab 👌 Thank you. I will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely gorgeous with sea view, friendly and accommodating staff. Food was delicious. I think the locals knew it too so they call for reservations to make sure that they get a table.

They have tables both indoor and outdoor. The bathroom was clean too.

Price is not too bad compared to the fresh quality of their food. Fantastic experience overall. Did I say already that the food was delicious?

This restaurant was highly recommended by Kim & Charlie, our BnB host. Friendly and accommodating staffs. Fresh seafood and cooked perfectly. Appreciated the options and price shown for the lobsters on the chart for us to make a decision. Other dishes/specials on the menu board. Nice place to hang out. We enjoyed our meal here😀

This is a wonderful Café to come and enjoy very fresh and well cooked seafood. The staff are very friendly, and caring. The southern rock lobster are cooked to perfection, whether you go for it original or garlic butter style. We also enjoyed the scallops which were perfectly grilled. I would visit again if it was much closer to home! Highly recommended if you are in Port McDonnell.

Arrived early and enjoying the moment with drink before their peak hours. Staff were very friendly with patience as usual. Kids and dog friendly always just like the last visit. Fresh ingredients with great taste. Will definitely come again, strongly recommended. Will pay a visit soon within a week with more guest!!!

We had the seafood chowder here for dinner. It was soooo good we came back and had it for lunch a couple of days later! Coffee is excellent and all the staff have been friendly. Bonus it's also dog friendly in the courtyard, sheltered from the wind or at the tables on the pavement, plenty of water bowls for our best friends too 🙂

Sensational food. Best fish (grilled garfish)I've had in South Australia. Seafood chowder is also great. Lovely views and very nice staff.

Ian and I called in to this beautiful place today.
The coffees were delicious. I had a Vegan Bliss Ball. So nice I purchased more to take home. Ian had the Salami Salad. Which he really enjoyed. The service was great.
All Staff are so lovely and helpful.
We will definitely be making regular trips to this wonderful place.

Mel looked after our requirements with a huge smile. Nothing would have been too difficult. Our food (flake for him & haloumi & mushroom burger for me, substituting the cheese...) was 'quality', according to him. Thank you!

Periwinkles on the foreshore in Port Macdonnell is a definite must to visit!!

The menu is fabulous with a large variety and I cludes daily specials and fish of the day options. There is starters, mains, breakfasts, kids meals, desserts!! And not to forget they have freshly caught local lobsters available cooked whichever ways you prefer and an option of sizes.
They also are a licensed venue and have a variety of alcoholic options as well as cocktails and mocktails.

The view is amazing. There are indoor and outdoor seating options.

We stop here for lunch every time we visit Port Mac and we take everyone who travel to visit us to this Cafe.

As meatless eaters, we found some great options here. We had the Pulled Jackfruit Burgers which were really tasty and served with chips. The cook came out to tell us that the buns were not vegan, but we said that was ok. There were some other options too. I had a soy chai that was delicious but the espresso my hubby had was a bit bitter but still ok. We sat outside with our dog and it was shaded with umbrellas and protected from the wind by glass panels. Nice view over the water. I side looked very nice.

Staff friendly. Great variety of sweets and savories. Good selection of wine. Seating inside or outside. Memories of making many sand castles catching crabs and taking the poor things home in a bucket. 50 years later. Still visiting Port Mac. Most favorite place to be : )

Fresh seafood, amazing view of sea and lovely ambience. Had my first ever lobster at this place, and it was simply fabulous. It is a hidden gem in Port Macdonnel. Visited Mount Gambier and was craving fresh seafood. It was about 25 minutes drive from Mount Gambier, and worth it. It's easy to distinguish if the seafood is stale or not well cooked. This place checked my personal quality checks, and l was flabbergasted with this taste as well as quality.
Ordered fresh southern rock lobster of around 900gms for 3 people which was grilled with garlic butter. It was served with fries, lemon wedges and garden salad. It was really a fun experience to learn how to eat a lobster. Do give it a try and order this for sure. You would Thank me later!
We also ordered oceans catch which consisted of grilled flake, panko crumbed calamari, panko prawns and herb prawn spring rolls. Quality and quantity, this was also a commendably executed dish.
Lastly, ordered beer battered large flathead with chips, salad and tartare sauce. It was fresh and crisp, the way we expect it to be. We were a group of 4 people and the bill was less than $150, including ordering the luxury food- Lobster. Definitely a place to visit if visiting Mount Gambier.
