Wonderful store, so well laid out, exceptionally welcoming and very knowledgeable. You can tell the staff are SO passionate about what they do. I think I've discovered my new favourite bookstore!

I love this bookstore. There's a huge selection of science fiction novels. Stefan is extremely knowledgeable and approachable. You'll enter the store intending on spending five minutes in there, and before you know it you've spent 20 minutes talking to Stefan about random sci-fi topics. 10/10

Stefen's is more than just a bookshop it's an experience. Not only is there a large and extensive range of Fantasy, Sci-fi and Crime books but both Stefen and his staff are knowledgeable and very approachable. Every time I go to the city I always make a point to stop by and grab something new to read.

I came in today huffing and puffing to get a book before close and the gentleman behind the counter was LOVELY. So helpful, incredibly polite and friendly and knows his books! I finally have found my favourite book store in Perth, it's clean, it smells of books and has such an incredible variety of books. I can't wait to spend all my money here! :D

Five stars isn't enough for Stefen's Books.. This guy knows his stuff with all the genres of books he carries.. I went in looking for a particular book and walked out with three others.. I get the impression from him that hes read every book on the many shelves in his shop.. If you're looking for a Fantasy, or Horror, or a Science Fiction novel or even a Sherlock Holmes book (with a twist), don't go anywhere else. Come have a chat with Stefen... He's been around since Supa Nova in William Street in the 90s..

Love this place. The guy who owns it is the guy behind the counter and he’s a reader - he knows all (or almost all?) the books in the store back to front and can discuss them as well as recommending similar books you may be into. The place is always clean and feels fresh and open and it always has interesting stock as well.

Incredible selection, super knowledgeable and friendly guy, would recommend Stefan and his store to anybody!

He even told us he could ship us our books if we didn’t have room in our luggage!

Steffen was unbelievably knowledgeable about Sci-Fi and Fantasy books. Very articulate and intelligent but friendly, helpful and informative.

If you are a fan of Sci-Fi or Fantasy novels, this is a must visit place. The stock was amazing, they had every book of each series that I was after and the prices were reasonable. I have not seen such a wide variety of 'hard' Sci-Fi anywhere else in Perth.

Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. However I do suggest you visit when it is not so busy if you would like to pick his brains about some good reads.

One of my favourite bookstores, always has a great range, easily marked books, friendly staff who always give arguably the best recommendations out of any book store I've ever visited.

Yes yes, this place has a great selection of sci-fi and fantasy, but the best part about Stefen's is getting to chat for 20 minutes with the owner about my favorite books and authors. This guy knows his stuff, and is nice enough to share it with fellow lovers of the genre.

Lovely experience in the bookshop. The owner is very knowledgeable and clearly knows his stuff. Amazing personality as well.

Fantastic bookstore catering to a sci-fi/fantasy/horror crowd. Stefan and staff give amazing recommendations and know the whole inventory in great detail. I've never walked out with a bad recommendation. If you have trouble finding new reads then ask! Good monthly newsletter and occasional events.

This place was a joy. I asked after queer fantasy recommendations and the owner told me about books until my wife begged to go for lunch. He was a delight and it made my day. Ten out of ten would visit again. I bought three books.

Went here on a whim whilst visting Perth this week and found inside not only a sizeable selection of great books but an equally great man who assisted my girlfriend and I in picking up some new books when we had no intention of really buying any when we landed in Perth! A very nice, knowledgeable fellow and if we’re ever back in Perth will definitely visit again - my girlfriend and I are sat here waiting for our plane home reading Tender is the Flesh and Alien 3!

Would give Stefen 10 stars... amazing guy and an even amazing collection of scifi and fantasy books. I came in searching for a particular author and since he was out of stock brought another book. The guy knows his books and his suggestions are even better. Will recommend any scifi and fantasy fans to check out this store

They have a great selection of books within a specific genre range (sci-fi/fantasy/horror)
Very inclusive, when I walked up to the counter the man there explained he wasn't being rude, he saw that I had earplugs in and took that as a sign of not wanting to talk. He explained that a group of people got together and considered the difficulties with autism, then explained they also have a wide door for wheelchairs, etc.
Seriously great they did that and the staff are all passionate about it!

On a recent business trip to Perth I stumbled on Stefen’s just before the official closing time. The guy there (Stefen himself?) couldn’t have been more helpful and patient as he took time to recommend an Australian crime fiction writer to try to see me through an up and coming long haul flight back to Canada. With that I fell into the world of Emma Viskic and her fascinating character Caleb Zelic. Having devoured Resurrection Bay, the first in the series I now want more! Huge thx. It’s that kind of service (a real labour of love) that is such an unbeatable feature of independent bookstores

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I wondered into Stefen's Books today just to waste some time before work. No intention of buying anything, I mean, what's the point? I haven't read a book since high school. The man behind the counter enthusiastically greeted me and lifted my mood instantly. Then, when I picked up a book he started to passionately tell me about it and we started talking about what sort of books ive read in the past. He was incredibly lovely and passionate that I went stuff it, I'm going to buy it and I don't regret it. I am absolutely loving this book! "Never Saw Me Coming". I would like to thank the man behind the counter for getting me back into reading, I forgot how much I enjoy reading a good book! :) I'm sure you will see me back once I have finished this book. (Which I am sure will be soon as I am already up to chapter 5)
