Melbourne City Backpackers

I loved it here. It was quiet and clean in the rooms. The lounge area was cool and friendly. The bathrooms were probably my fave haha. Very clean and had plenty of room for showering/toliets. They also split them for girls and boys so that’s perfect. And great spot in the city. I loved it here.

Fantastic hostel! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Kitchen facilities are well looked after - no ovens but the hobs are commercial grade and do most things you'll need. Great central location, very easy to get around the city with lots of nearby public transport options. Lots of differrent room types to accommodate you stay. Highly recommend if you're looking for an affordable and convenient hostel!

Super friendly customer service.... Rooms could be untidy.. but what do you expect from young back Packers lol... I was doing a massive road trip and it was really worth staying there for a day if you want to get to know the city of Melbourne... If lucky park outside and use the app for it... Isn't as expensive as you would expect

Great location, really nice and helpful staff, self late check in, towels were provided in a private room, free good breakfast (toasts, peanut butter, jam, butter and coffee&tea), big kitchen.
The only thing which wasn’t good was the temperature of the room. It was freezing:(( we stayed during the winter.
Overall, the value was really good for this price, during warmer months it’s probably perfect for backpackers!

Kind and attentive staff, clean and well appointed amenities and conveniently located. Had a great stay!

This hostel is perfect if you would like to stay in Melbourne long-term. The weekly rate offers a good price, free breakfast included and the staff made you feel comfortable there especially Hannah the receptionist is super nice :)

My home in Melbourne! If you are new in the city, this is the place to be. Free breakfast, good environment and good to socialize, close to one of the main train stations, really convenient location, extremely helpful and friendly staff... Do not hesitate, you won't regret it!

I stayed two weeks. I found lovely friends here. I can eat FREE breakfast until 11 a.m. and use the kitchen. Staff and guests are so kind and friendly for me. When I arrived at Melbourne alone, I was so lonely. But thanks to everyone talking in the lounge, it was a very pleasant stay. In addition, everyone taught me English because I am a Japanese student coming to study it. Thank you so much !

The MCB was the hostel in Australia where I felt the most welcomed. Especially the staff with the receptionist Hannah was always friendly und helpful. The Hostel is perfect when you want the meet nice people from all over the world.

For the price I've paid, it was an amazing experience.
Good free breakfast and coffee.
The best part of the hostel is definitely the staff, they are very considerate and respectful.
The installation is not amazing, but again, good for the price and the location.

Justice from CHEAPAZ was such an amazing help booking our entire trip across Australia and NZ. He took the time to make sure our flights, hostels and bus rides were going to work with what we needed. Not only was he helpful for multiple hours in person, but also while we were travelling. If we had any questions or concerns we knew who to talk to.
If you’re looking to book a trip start at the backpackers hostel and book the rest at the backpackers hostel in Melbourne. Not only have we had the best trip but we’ve also made a lifelong friend. Can’t wait to go back.

I had the best time staying at Melbourne City Backpackers. I was able to meet so many new people from all over the world. The staff is really great and do the best they can to make your stay as unproblematic as they can

Stayed at the 6 beds female room for one night only to catch my flight, I found the room was quite small, barely any space between the bunk beds and the lockers.
have free breakfast, cereal, bread, milk, tea and coffee.

The location is amazing, less than 7 mins walking from Melbourne central and just 1 street away from southern cross station. The service is really good, staff is always nice and energetic, fro the price couldn’t be better.

I spent two nights in this lovely hostel and had an outstanding experience; it's a shame I couldn't stay longer. The hostel staff are outgoing and friendly. The kitchen, bathrooms and rooms are relatively clean and tidy. Prices per night are the best you'll find in Melbourne CBD. Special thanks to Erica, Cici, Max, Emilia and the young Swiss guy that works in reception. You've made my short stay pleasurable and pleasant.
Make sure you wake up before 11 AM for the FREE breakfast. After a night of hard partying or intense chess games, it might be a more challenging task than it seems.

Nice place for rest after a long tiring tour. Staffs are great. Location is also accessible to all.
