The Bush Inn

This pub was highly recommended by so many sources and justifiably so!!!!
If you are expecting great service & great food look no further.
The minute we walked in, we were welcomed and served and made to feel special. Tim (the proprietor, who was so humble and professional) offered us a lovely table and made us feel that it was his mission to make our night perfect.
Our food was exceptional and served quickly.
Brooke is quite a remarkable waitress who invested as much care with the children’s orders as the adults.
The pub has amazing views over the Derwent River (unfortunately it was raining and we didn’t want to eat on the outside balcony).
Multiple fireplaces, leather couches, little nooks to hide in and absorb the atmosphere and plenty of social banter echoing through the rooms.
You can tell a great pub by how many people come in and want to stay, how clean it is, how warm the service is and how welcoming the atmosphere is.
The toilets were immaculate.
All I can say is, Tim has obviously invested everything he has in the hotel and I can honestly say it won’t fail because he has the right formula going.

Called in today to have a beer at the oldest pub.
Lovely place. Was told today that the pub has just reopened after renovation.
Lovely outside seating over looking the river. Nice to sit out in the sun.
Great big dinning area. All spaces had lovely old fire places. Will be nice and cosy when COLD!
It's definitely worth dropping in for a cold beer or 2!!

We just had dinner, but had an amazing meal with lovely views. We had great chats with the locals whilst listening to live music. A very good venue.

Food was great and service was exceptional!

Our waiter Josh was very pleasant and all round joy to speak to!
Super inviting vibe and I was extremely happy with their service!

We also had a very warm welcoming from Tim, who went the extra mile to arrange a specific table for us, after he noticed that would be preferred!

A true New Norfolk classic, amazing pub with very friendly staff, Well priced drinks and delicious food. Highly recommend hanging out on the deck. It has some amazing views of the valley and some amazing local music talent is regularly present at the pub. Highly recommend stopping while visiting new Norfolk

What a gorgeous piece of history! Definitely a must visit on the way to Hobart. Staff went above and beyond, the old decor is stunning and the deck out back is great on a hot day. Can recommend the salt & pepper squid - so fresh and tender!

Service was great aswell as the food. The staff member Danni was very kind and patient and most of all kind. My lemon squash tasted like a home-made drink and tasted better than usual! An easy 5 stars for the New Norfolk Bush Inn!!!

Wow what great food, service and location. Great range of beers on tap. Try the guiness pie, meatiest tastiest ever.

We had a Christmas function here, so ate as part of a large group of 35.

Despite the incredible busyness our entire group was served promptly, and the steak was sensational. On a par with steak at any Rockpool or Meat & Wine Co.

Tim and Josh were exceptional, and the bar staff were very helpful and attentive.

We had lunch here while driving through the town and we loved the food (we had crumbed scallops a pulled pork burger (both specials)). Food was excellent and the staff were super friendly. The deck has a great view also! Highly recommend

Dropped in here for lunch. The service was great, friendly & helpful staff. The food was great, freshly made and piping hot. Chocolate almond cake for dessert was very good.

Very impressed with the changes the new owners have made, place looked awesome and the food was great! Service was spot on too! Good to have a vegan option or two at such a classic pub! Cheers guys!

Had a absolutely sensational meals, all the meals were on point. Steak was cooked perfect. I'll be going back. I was originally a little nervous by the look of the outside but once inside you soon forget about the outside, inside is renovated and very tidy

After a successful reopening the streets are packed each and every day for patrons of all sorts from familiar locals to those traveling and exploring.

A beautiful mix of a warm and friendly atmosphere combined with affordable food and drinks makes for a fantastic experience.

What to try:
Any steak with The Bush secret coffee BBQ sauce.

Josh, Erin and Tim are top notch!

Possibly the fastest I've ever had a pub meal brought out and there was 12 of us.

Dined here yesterday with friends and it was as good as we were led to believe in recent recommendations .
The newly renovated restaurant and dining areas are indeed very fresh and tastefully redecorated to reflect the era of the building which is a nice touch. Wood fires in winter in New Norfolk whilst dining is a lovely treat as is sitting by them after one’s meal enjoying a relaxing drink.
The food is delicious and well presented, many tasty options, my chicken schnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce , chips and slaw was so good . The “ real homemade “ schnitzel breast was appreciated , not prepackaged like a lot of pubs dish up .
One friend had Pam’s special rissoles and mash, and the other , chicken parmigiana thoroughly devoured both meals as I did .
I will be back often and will gladly recommend this establishment to my friends and family, both local and interstate.
Finally we have a decent eat in restaurant in NN. Tourists will love this too . Keep up the great enthusiasm and professional service, sadly lacking in many areas these days .

Food is amazing and fast!. Staff all so friendly and welcoming. Amazing place to sit on the deck and enjoy the sun and the views! Very family friendly will definitely be back soon! Xx
