It was absolutely amazing I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a gem. It's not a complex zoo with a very large number of animals but there were some really cool species. Our group loved it especially since these were species not found back home

Very nice Zoo. It's all on a hill so you'll get lots of exercise walking around the zoo. Fantastic views from various locations there as well. If you buy the Innsbruck Card, the 13 EU entry is included as is the train that is the first stop near the zoo. You can then go up to the Nordkette with the same ticket with the cable car and make a great day of it.

It’s a smaller zoo but it contains only animals native to the alps so it’s quite nice. It’s constructed on the side of a mountain so it might be a bit steep if you have an elderly person or someone who isn’t able to walk well

Clean and healthy animals. Well looked after enclosures. All animals are historically found in the region. I am sure it looks even better in the summer time.

Had fun at this place watching animals and just being with mother nature at the same time. It's a nice place to visit together with your family, also with friends or maybe alone will do too. The animals will keep you company if you get bored. 😉

A great way to see the wildlife of the Alps as head up the Nordkette on the funicular and cable cars.
From bears to wolves and all in between

Great ZOO fully immersed in nature - a well spent afternoon in a forest walk full of wildlife. Signs showing directions could be improved and more information in English on info panels would be nice.

Impressive. Visitors can look at the animals from different sides. If you don't see the animal from the bottom, be patient and walk all the way up to the top. For example, the wolf.

I purchased the Innsbruck card so it's free entry.

Very nice zoo. I can only recommend visiting this place. It's great for all groups of people. Only one little bit of warning, it's on the hill so it's necessary to go up and down 😅
Otherwise for the price it's definitely worth it to go there. There is a possibility to buy some food in restaurant.
A very nice playground for kids in the zoo.
We had a great time 🤩

Alpenzoo Innsbruck offers a unique and captivating experience, earning it a solid four-star rating. The zoo's distinctive focus on alpine wildlife is commendable, providing visitors with the opportunity to encounter animals native to the region. The enclosures are well-maintained, and the zookeepers seem dedicated to the animals' well-being.

However, the layout of the zoo involves navigating several uphill and downhill paths, which may pose a challenge for some visitors. While this design adds to the natural feel of the environment, it could be a drawback for those who prefer a more level terrain.

Despite the walking challenges, the scenic views of Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains from within the zoo are breathtaking. The educational aspects of the exhibits are informative and engaging, making it an excellent destination for families or anyone interested in alpine fauna.

In summary, Alpenzoo Innsbruck offers an enriching experience, though the hilly terrain may not be ideal for everyone. If you're willing to tackle the inclines, the zoo's unique focus and picturesque setting make it a worthwhile visit, earning it a solid four-star rating.

Here's the beautiful collection of the The most river creature I've ever seen. The blue crayfish and the family of bears are especially stunning.

We visited the Alpenzoo in the early morning. This is the best time to visit because it can get crowded (and hot) in the summer. A must visit when in Innsbruck

We had an amazing time at the alpine zoo. We saw almost all of the animals that are in the exhibits, including baby bobcats. We had a toddler in a stroller and while the trails are fairly steep, it was still very manageable. The zoo is well worth the visit and all of the animals seem healthy and happy in their exhibits.

Another memorable place because this zoo locates on the Alps 👍🏼To meet animals that live in cold regions. Recommend for all ages , all genders

We bought 👉🏼Innsbruck card 48hrs
price as of Apr'23 = €63 / 1 person
This card is worth if you plan going about 5 attractions up in Innbruck 👍🏼 include Funicular fee, Cable car fee, all Alps attractions fee , Alpen zoo, Segrube, Top of Innsbruck, Hofburg palace , Tirol folk art museum, The Imperial court church ,Swarovski

Great Zoo with lots of different animals of the local area, the alpine. It's a bit difficult to get there, with either taking a local bus line, the Nordkettenbahn or to go by car, but it's completely worth it. There is also a nice playground for kids and a petting zoo. It's mostly outdoors, so dress accordingly. Full recommendation.

We arrived from Munich to see this wonderful Alpine Zoo with a lot of fluffy lynx and birds of prey. The surroundings are beautiful too.
