Was honestly expecting this to be kind of boring, but once you start the ride up you realize how high it really is, granted it is the tallest mountain in Germany 🤣. The ride up can be scary for those afraid of heights, but for those who are not you can hike at the top of the mountain. They have lots of information regarding the mountain and it’s history. It’s definitely worth the time .

Lots of good photo opportunities, has a good cafe with typical German cafe foods and drinks 🍺 🍷, good gift shop as well .

Amazing, just one word.

It was a unique impression. Also, the agent inside the cable car was so kind. I recommend spending at least 3-4 hours on the peak. Bring some food or go to the restaurant and eat there.

Family-friendly staff. Magnificent views 👏 and not overcrowded like the German side does.

Expensive, but worth it for a smooth, safe, fast journey to the top of Germany's tallest mountain. The Austrian cable car is a little bit cheaper and a lot less busy than taking it from the German side. Dress for cold weather at the top, check the website for current conditions before you head up, so you can layer appropriately. Treat yourself to a beer and pretzel on top of the world!
PS - if you haven't been up many mountains, I think the trip is still worthwhile even on a cloudy day if that's your only option, as it was for us.

Beautiful view and a smooth mode of transport. However, definitely not for those who have a big fear of heights!

A little pricy but I’d say it’s well worth it, provided it’s a clear day. I gather it is cheaper from the Austrian side too. Probably not worth it if there is a lot of cloud at the top. We found it not too busy, even on a weekend, clean and well organised. The view on the way up is breathtaking. Plan for about 2 hours total if you are not going to be eating a meal at the top. The wind is chilly so bring warm clothes even if it’s a hot day. You can move easily from the Austrian and German sides once you are up. The Austrian ticket gives you access to a nice little museum about the making of the station.

We drove to the parking lot, bought our tickets and went straight to cable car. Pay for parking when you leave. I was there in 1975, and of course it has grown. So modern. You can also walk a short tunnel to Austria side. Food and gift shops at top. It's amazing no better view of the Eibsee.

Amazing experience. The views from the platform and on the glacier are truly phenomenal. The facilities are also top notch, several restaurants, sanitary facilities and even a museum. Well worth the price.

Easy to find and park to take the cable car to the Zugspitze to enjoy the highest peak in Germany. Very crowded up top so it was nice to take the cable car to the glacier to escape some of the crowd and have a cold beverage before walking to the glacier. Excellent ride that will be in my memory for some time to come.

Expensive but definitely worth it! Very cool ride to the top with plenty of things to do once you’re there.

It cheap at €63 - in fact expensive. But walking is not an option - for all but the few fools who perch on the ever steeper rock face and crawl up to 2950M.
We took the Glacier cable car down to the plateau behind the summit to make it a full experience.
The beer and sausage prices were not inflated by the altitude.
Admire the Austrian genius for cable cars - OK the Swiss and Germans too…extraordinary feats of tenacity, courage and design make these lifts possible.

Amazing breath taking expirience. Nice restaurants on the top, both Austrian and German. The cable car a bit expensive though (50 €)

This side of the Zugspitz mountain the cable car is not as full as on the other station. Seems to be fewer people and the wait is not long. Please note, parking needs to be paid as at the hotel close by as it has some nice historic photographs on display.

Prefect place, don't Miss it!
Up and down ticket costs around 50 euro, you should check the weather before you go up (sometimes it's cloudy)

Uphill you have many restaurants or places to buy food/drink

It was wonderful. Expensive but it's a once in a lifetime experience. We went down at 2 pm. We were told by the gentleman in charge of the cable car 🚡 to avoid going after 3pm as there would be long queues with people trying to get down. Last car down is 4.45 pm (in April).

Should not miss this incredible view from the tallest peak in Germany. We went up the Austrian side which was an incredible drive. Remember it is far colder at the top than in the valley - a jacket or sweatshirt is a good idea.

Very exciting ride up the mountain and down to the glacier. A little pricey at 61 euro per person but it had to be quite expensive to build and maintain so I can understand the cost.

Ticket is 50 euro per person. It does not take long to go up. The view is amazing, of course.
Mask mandatory while in the cable car.
At the destination there was also a restaurant but we have not tried it as it was not possible to stay inside yet.
