unbelievably nice mountain hut, friendly staff who speak Czech, amazing food, finally a proper Nombardino, I recommend

After a hard hike in a rain, I was exhausted, but this warm and charming restaurant filled my empty stomach with delicious cuisine. Gentle and friendly staffs welcomed us. I had a small pleasure time with cute lamas and ponies. Highly recommend to all hikers.

A fifteen minute trot from the gondola and then you get great food, beautiful views, and extremely friendly farm animals that just want a good scritch behind the ears. Oh, plus everywhere you sit there's a fantastic view.

I had the days special- pork chop with sauteed onions and potatoes in sour cream sauce- and it was some of the best food I've had on my Austrian vacation. Plus the family that owns the place is SUPER nice and friendly, even though we didn't speak much German at all.

If I died on their patio I would consider it an honor and a good life lived.

PROTIP: if you want the (mostly) level walk to this place, check out the photo I posted- my finger is pointed to the stairs that run next to the chairlift station- take those down and then hang a right- takes you straight to the Alm Ranch with a minimum of elevation change. If you have a stroller, then: facing with your back to the chairlift up from Kaprun, walk right down the gravel road towards the restaurant that's next to the station. Then, walk past that restaurants' terrace and under the building- straight to the Alm Ranch.

Pleasant place to stop after some hiking, enjoy the view and a beverage/ food. They also have playground for kids and cute animals to pet (donkeys, poneys, goats, alpacas). During week days is even nicer as there are not many turists.

The best place to eat. Best prices and staff. Home food, tasty, full of flavor. Perfect place.

Great place to go after a mini-walk from the top cable car station. Stunning views both towards Zell (don’t miss the little path around the side to the balcony) and back across towards the bigger mountains.
The area is really relaxing and nicely laid out with animals that you can purchase feed for (great for kids) and a small play area too.
We only stopped for a snack but the apple strudle was tasty and just right. Other food coming out looked like solid Alpine fare too.

We did the hike from the top down (6/7 hours) and came across this charming restaurant.

We rested here for a bid an had a delicious meal, decided to have a few drinks because of the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Absolutely a recommendation.

THE BEST RESTAURANT IN KAPRUN!!! if it isnt the best of austria! The owner makes the food with love! Also the people who work here are super friendly and nice! All the meat dishes are fantastic fabulous. Love this place and i will always remember it!
