Yes likely prices gouged for tourists (but still cheap!) but samples everywhere and vendors are very friendly. I went around late lunch today and it was practically empty. Will return before the end of my time in Armenia.

Traditional covered bazaar style market where you can buy everything from dried fruit sheets and gift ornaments to a variety of strong spirits made from every berry and fruit you can imagine.

Pro tip: don't feel shy about haggling on the price if you're buying multiple items from a vendor, and don't hesitate to ask for a sample before you try something you're interested in before buying.

To the east of the building outside there's fresh fish for sale, to the west of the building are numerous butchers, and to the south you can even buy live gees, ducks, chickens, etc to slaughter and butcher at home if that's your thing.

Certainly more fun to shop here than Yerevan City or SAS, and everything is local. Just to remind you - the vendors expect you to haggle on prices and won't take offense in any way.
