Saint Gregory The Illuminator Cathedral

It is one of the most beautiful and attractive sightseeing places in Yerevan, which is free to visit and is a great place for photography and visiting. If you travel to Yerevan, don't miss visiting this great and wonderful church. Next to this church, there is a playground for children and it is about 10 minutes away from the main square of the city.

Big amazing cathedral… but honestly nothing special

This cathedral is too big that you will somehow feel under control of some superior being. The architecture is beyond awesome.

Located very close to the Yerevan metro station. It is more impressive on the outside and reminds me a lot about the Tbilisi cathedral in Georgia.

Wedding couples lined up at the door. So nice. Light a candle in the chapel next door.

Saint Gregory The Illuminator Cathedral is a very nice old Church in the center on Yerevan city.
Very peaceful and quiet from inside in the days week, but it is crowded on Sundays and in other Ceremonies.
It needs more attention for the surrounding areas such as planting more flowers and adding more benches to rest in the beautiful walking stairs.
Don't miss the light some candles in the candle place which is located directly behind the church.
I recommend visiting this Cathedral.

Wow! Never seen such a unique and interesting design of church interior. It is Armenian church which is one of the first in the world. Very well built and preserved. Absolutely a must visit place in Yerevan. Yes, the outside area may be a bit intimidating, but no worries just go inside and enjoy the chandeliers, benches and ceiling design in the shape of squares. Looks very post-modern while in fact was built centuries ago. Super!

It's huge and lovely, you can visit all the inside, also there is a shop for buying candles and putting on special desks for praying, I strongly recommend this cathedral to all tourists,

Really love the simplicity of the church. Behind the alter is a painting of Mary and baby Jesus that is very uniques and probably more culturally accurate. Very large and beautiful church. Would love to see it on a Sunday service. I highly recommend visiting this church.

The biggest church in Armenia. It was built in 2014 to celebrate the 1700 anniversary of the adaptation of Christianity of Armenians. The interior is rather plain for there are no stone carvings and depictions. Definetely a must-see in Yerevan.

Gorgeous church, very new finished in 2001. Grounds are not taken care of at all.

Amazing church located close to the metro station Zoravar Andranic. Close to the church is located Yerevan state university and many commercial malls and 2 parks. On front of the church there is NB an impressive statue of Armenian national hero Zoravar Andranic

Huge temple. Inside it looks amazingly modest and not over-colored like a lot of other western temples.

Really beautiful building, nice architecture, even not so much light during the night is totally worth to pay a visit.
