Villa GJECAJ Guesthouse and Restaurant

We have just visited restaurant - 4 gents trip. I have to admit - that was really King's dinner! we had to wait a bit for a table, approximately 1 bottle of wine (=45 min) . However it was worth the wait and the cold we got. Food, (baby goat) was prepared perfectly, side dishes was just superb as additionals to main course. baked cheese added on top of rice served with goat - amazing! Local wine served to the meal was one of the best I have tasted in Albania! 1 star less for service - because of the wait.

Amazing food, one of the best meals we had. Would definitely recommend. The garden is beautiful and the service great. They make time for a nice talk. The restaurant also has vegetarian options. Dont miss this place :)

ABSOLUTE DREAM! Kind service, delicious homemade food, by far the best (and cheapest) we had in Albania!
I truly recommend the salad, fish, goat, & asking for the charcuterie board (even if its not in the menu they may arrange it for you)

My partner and I stayed here at the end of September and loved every minute of it. Waking up to a delicious breakfast and coffee all wonderfully prepared by friendly staff and sitting out in the garden was a real treat. We hiked the popular route up to Valbona pass which was relatively easy and nice to stop for a drink at the cafe up top. The next day we hiked Maja E arapit from the guesthouse and that was a real highlight. A much longer day but worth the views! Came back to a scrumptious lamb dinner! Thank you Ida and staff for the hospitality!

If you're looking for a great restaurant: congratulations, you found it! This restaurant is excellent, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

We went here twice. The first time we had oven roasted lamb and pork, both of which were out of this world good! Different cuts are served, and especially the beautiful crusty skin on both of them, and the delicious fatty meat are what memories are made of! On the second day we had chicken and sausages, which were also good, but if I have to make a recommendation I would recommend the oven roasted lamb or pork.

Location is beautiful is well: it's a very short walk up from the center, which gives this place a very private feeling.

We had dinner there and it was amazing. We were looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion and this was a great choice. The food was amazing and the service was incredibly nice.
The lamb and veal was super tasty, as well as the homemade tiramisu.
Will definitely recommend this place

Amazing place where we spent 4 magical days. Outstanding views from everywhere. Delicious traditional food served fast and with care. The owner will go out of the way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you're looking for a place to go as guest and leave behind a friend that's the place to go.
I would recommended to everyone as we're definitely coming back.

Yesterday we had dinner at this beautiful place and it was great. Since it was weekend, we booked a table via WhatsApp and got immediately a response.
We had vegetarian food (stuffed peppers & eggplants, oven potatos, byrek with cheese, big beans, mix salat) and the meal was very tasty. The service was also very friendly, they all speak good english. John, the waiter fulfilled all our wishes. The prices are ok too.

We got recommended this place by friends and we are so glad they told us about it! Unfortunately the rooms were fully booked on the night we stayed in Theth, so we decided to visit for dinner. Firstly the staff was super friendly with great english, which made everything a lot easier. We chose the half chicken, the cheese byrec and honestly the best eggplant we have ever tried (dying to know the recipe 😉).Will definitely pass on the recommendation to other people I know visiting Albania!

Absolutely amazing restaurant! The food was excellent, the staff was super friendly, the view is stunning, prices normal. We enjoyed it very much and can only recommend it to everyone! Also the building is charming and very photogenic. We hope to come back for dinner soon!

After our hike from Valbona to Theth, we were so happy to arrive at this wonderful place. It is a lovely, beautiful guesthouse with extremely friendly staff. We also had dinner at their restaurant and the food, as well as the service, was exquisite. I highly recommend staying here and/or coming to their restaurant. Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn’t make use of their beautiful garden terrace. I would come back to experience Theth and Villa Gjeçaj with sunshine.

Such a wonderful experience of both service and hospitality. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Also the food was reasonably cheap. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Theth.

The food is local, with some meat, vegetables, cheese, potatoes. To avoid waste, they have a limited menu depending on the day and the number of people which I think is nice !

This is the place to eat in Theth, it might actually be the place to eat in Albania.
Hearthy, traditional, local food. Great and friendly service. Beautiful location.

This review is for the restaurant only as we did not stay here. Food and service was 5/5. We had the stuffed eggplant, home grown giant bean stew and the Byrek stuffed with cheese. The eggplant was by far the best thing we have eaten in Albania. If we were staying more nights we would have definitely returned. Thank you for a great meal!

Beautiful place with great food and incredibly nice staff. We spent 2 amazing nights and we're amazed with how much beauty of nature that place is surrounded by. Would recommend to everyone and big thank you to the staff.

This was our favourite restaurant experience in Albania. A very cute, family run restaurant which feels like you’ve walked into someone’s backyard and they’ve started serving cold beers and delicious lamb on the bone. Short walk around the corner from the mini market was well worth it. Dreaming of going back again.

We came here only for lunch, we were made to feel so welcome and cozy in the beautiful garden amongst the rabbits and the chickens. We had delicious food homegrown and locally sourced.
